Chinavia ubica (Rolston)

Acrosternum (Chinavia) ubicum Rolston, 1983: 135–137, figs. 93–99.

Coloration. Predominantly green. The lateral margins of juga and pronotum are black, followed by a red band. Basal angles of scutellum with or without 1+1 black spots. Scutellum apex yellow. Connexivum and urosternites red. Black macula in posterolateral angle of connexivum and urosternite. Head. Margins of juga without concavity in front of eyes, apex of head broadened and semicircular. Proportion of antennal segments: I<II<III<IV<≈V. The rostrum reaches the metacoxae. Proportion of rostral segments: I<II>III>IV. Thorax. Anterolateral margins of pronotum without a submarginal dorsal depression. Hemelytra with costal angles slightly obtuse. Membranal suture convex. Abdomen. Medial spine of the third urosternite doesn’t reachthe metacoxae. Spiracles black surrounded by a yellow callus.

Distribution. Bahamas, Haiti, Dominican Republic*, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Guiana, Suriname, Brazil (AP, PA, CE, PI**, RN, TO, PE, AL**, BA, MT, GO, MG, DF, ES, SP, RJ, SC), Bolivia.

Families of plants as possible hosts. Fabaceae (Rolston 1983; Panizzi 2002; Schwertner et al 2002), Malvaceae (Schwertner & Grazia 2007), Solanaceae (Schwertner & Grazia 2007).

Comments. The connexivum and urosternite with a red band and the spiracles black surrounded by a yellow callus are diagnostic.
