Chinavia obstinata (Stål)

Acrosternum (Chinavia) panizzii Frey-da-Silva & Grazia, 2001: 115–117, figs. 2, 8–10, 17–19, 24, 27 (synonymyzed by Schwertner and Grazia 2007)

Coloration. Predominantly green. The lateral margins of juga are black, the lateral margins of pronotum are green, followed by a green band. Connexivum green and urosternite yellow. Cicatrices, basal angles of scutellum, and posterolateral angles of connexivum sometimes with black spots present. Urosternite always has black spots on posterior portion. Head. Margins of juga with a slight concavity in front of eyes, apex of head large and semicircular. Proportion of antennal segments: I<II<III<IV≈V. The rostrum reaches the metacoxae. Proportion of rostral segments: I≈II>III>IV. Thorax. Anterolateral margins of pronotum without a submarginal dorsal depression. Hemelytra with costal angles slightly obtuse. Membranal suture convex. Abdomen. Medial spine of the third urosternite always surpasses the mesocoxae. Spiracles varies in color, being green or black.

Distribution. Brazil (MG, SP, RJ, SC*, PR, RS*), Argentina (MI**).

Families of plants as possible hosts. Fabaceae (Schwertner & Grazia 2007), Passifloraceae (Matesco et al. 2003, as Acrosternum obstinatum).

Comments. It has polymorphism in the coloration of cicatrices of pronotum and basal angles of scutellum, which may or not be immaculate. The posterolateral margin of the connexivum may or don’t have a black spot, which may be only in the urosternite.
