Chinavia wygodzinskyi (Rolston)

Acrosternum (Chinavia) wygodzinskyi Rolston, 1983: 142–144, figs. 124–127.

Coloration. Predominantly green. The lateral margins of juga and pronotum are black, followed by a red or yellow band. Humeral angle red. Connexivum and urosternite green. Black macula in the posterolateral angles of connexivum and urosternites. Head. Margins of juga with a slight concavity in front of eyes, apex of head broadened and semicircular. Proportion of antennal segments: I<II≈III<IV≈V. Rostrum reaches the metacoxae. Proportion of rostral segments: I<II≈III>IV. Thorax. Anterolateral margins of pronotum with a submarginal dorsal depression. Humeral angle produced laterad. Hemelytra with costal angles slightly obtuse. Membranal suture convex. Abdomen. Medial spine of third urosternite reaches the metacoxae. Spiracles brown surrounded by a yellow uncalloused ring.

Distribution. Bahamas, Dominican Republic*, Puerto Rico, British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands.

Families of plants as possible hosts. Fabaceae (Perez-Gelabert & Thomas 2005).

Comments. The humeral angle produced laterad but not developed into a spine, with red spot, medial spine of third urosternite ending between the metacoxae and spiracles surrounded by a yellow uncaloused ring are diagnostic.
