Chinavia apicicornis (Spinola)

Pentatoma apicicorne Spinola in Gay, 1852: 131–132, fig. 1.

Coloration. Predominantly green. Lateral margins of juga and pronotum black, followed by a yellow band. Middle region and apex of scutellum yellow. Scutellum with four irregular yellow dots on the basis. Connexivum green and urosternites orange. Black macula present in posterolateral angles of connexivum and urosternite. Head. Margins of juga with a slight concavity in front of eyes, apex of head large and semicircular. Proportion of antennal segments: I<II<III<IV≈V. Rostrum reaching mesocoxae. Proportion of rostral segments: I<II>III>IV. Thorax. Anterolateral margins of pronotum with a submarginal dorsal depression. Humeral angle obtuse. Hemelytra with costal angles slightly obtuse. Membranal suture convex. Abdomen. Medial spine of third urosternite doesn’t reach metacoxae. Spiracles yellow.

Distribution. Chile*, Argentina (PBA**,CT, CHB, CD, LR, MS, MZ, RN, ST, SJ, SL, SF, TC**).

Families of plants as possible hosts. Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Musaceae, Rosaceae (all in Faúndez et al. 2013).
