Chinavia runaspis (Dallas)

Rhaphigaster runaspis Dallas, 1851: 280.

Coloration. Predominantly green. The lateral margins of juga and pronotum are black, followed by a red band. Connexivum, urosternites and apex of scutellum red. Black macula covering all the anterior and posterior portion of urosternites and connexivum. Head. Margins of juga with a slight concavity in front of eyes, apex of head broadened and semicircular. Proportion of antennal segments: I<II≈III≈IV>V. The rostrum reaches the metacoxae. Proportion of rostral segments: I≈II>III>IV. Thorax. Anterolateral margins of pronotum with a submarginal dorsal depression. Hemelytra with costal angles slighty obtuse. Membranal suture convex. Abdomen. Medial spine of the third urosternite reaches the metacoxae. Spiracles green.

Distribution. Colombia, Venezuela, Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil (AP, PA, AM, PE, BA, MT, RO, MG, SP, RJ, SC*, RS*), Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina (SE, SA, MI).

Families of plants as possible hosts. Oleaceae (Panizzi & Grazia 2001), Palmaceae (Schwertner & Grazia 2007).
