Students and staff are entitled to confidentiality regarding personal information. Teachers must use good judgment when discussing school business, student behavior or achievement. No school employee shall reveal personal information concerning any student, parent or staff member except under judicial process unless that person is:
Restrictions imposed by this act are not intended to interfere with the giving of information by school personnel concerning participation in athletics and other school activities, the winning of scholastic or other honors and awards, and other like information. Notwithstanding the restrictions imposed by this section, any employer or potential employer of the pupil may be furnished the age and scholastic records of the pupil and employment recommendations prepared by members of the school staff. Rosters or lists containing the names and addresses of students at the school will not be furnished to private business or professional schools and colleges.
Differences will arise among staff members. When they do, they need to be handled with good will and forthrightness. Please remember not to be critical of another staff member in the presence of students, parents, or members of the community, and discuss any differences in private. Please use professional courtesy and discuss differences directly with the individual involved.
