Early Return of Dependent (ERD)

Early Return of Dependent (ERD): LQA and PA have to be terminated for dependents who left the employee’s duty location under this type of order

Example :

• According to your ERD orders for your dependent, he/she left Korea o/a 6 Jan for college/US and will no longer return.
• Based on this, you need to submit an SF 1190 in DAPS to terminate him/her from your LQA and PA as of 6 Jan 2009.

Please Note:

• Some employees may need to make multiple decreases to family members accordingly.
• Family members for PA also have to be decreased if employee’s spouse is receiving his/her own PA.
• Employees are responsible for monitoring their pay and allowances and for initiating changes and corrections when they acquire or lose dependents.
• DoDEA employees must use the automated DoDEA Allowances Processing System (DAPS) to initiate changes to their allowances.
