DRAFT - UNDER REVIEW - DRAFT
Anytime a teacher notes a pattern of failing or near failing, the student's sponsor should be notified. It is also recommended that teachers notify the sponsor if a student’s grade drops from one grade to another. Computer-generated progress reports are mailed each mid-quarter, or sent out weekly as needed.
A student should not receive a failing grade for a marking period unless the sponsor has been notified of possible failure at least three weeks prior to the end of the marking period. Exceptions would be when the student's grade drops into the unsatisfactory range at the end of the marking period or as the result of a final examination. These instances should be rare.
At the same time unsatisfactory progress reports are requested, teachers will also have the opportunity to note commendable progress in a subject. Commendable progress reports are not mandatory but are encouraged.
