Mood disorders
Anxiety disorder can coexist with mood disorders.
DEPRESSION- the word is used in many ways.
Everyone can feel sad or blue and this is natural when something bad happens. If you feel sad or blue EVERYDAY it COULD be an indicator of short-term depression, which may be manageable and recovery possible without treatment.
CLINICAL DEPRESSION - lasts for at least two weeks and affects behaviour (cognitive, emotional and physical effects). Interferes with work, studying and having satisfying relationships.
Self harm, substance abuse and suicide is a greater risk when depression is severe.
PMDD symptoms:
similar to PMS, more intense and has a greater negative impact on your daily activities and quality of life.
Possible symptoms:
Physical -cramps, headaches and joint and muscle pain.
Behavioural - binge eating and problems sleeping.
Mental and emotional symptoms - feeling anxious, angry, depressed or, in some cases, even suicidal.
