A*2 - EXPLAIN THE BENEFITS OF WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP IN RELATION TO SAFEGUARDING AND PROTECTION
Introduce the topic by describing what partnership working is, especially in the context of HSC - what other practitioners/ individuals might we have to work with?
You can then consider generally, why it is important to work in partnership, especially when you are safeguarding a VULNERABLE person.
Expertise
Every practitioner will have their own set of qualities, skills and knowledge
Working together means that you have combine these skills and knowledge, to better safeguard the individual
It also means that good practices can be shared across teams
Shared goals
When you are working in partnership, all colleagues are agreeing to work together on a shared goal - which is to safeguard and protect the individual
Because you are all focused on providing that service user with safe and effective care, the individual will be placed at the centre - PERSON-CENTRED CARE.
Defined roles and responsibilities
Each practitioner should have DEFINED roles and responsibilities - this means that it should be clear what everyone is professional required to do (so everyone knows what their place is, in the organisation)
Having defined roles and responsibilities means that we know what everyone else is expected/ required to do
This also means that we trust practitioners, in terms of them having the expertise and skills to carry out their job role
Intervention
Working in partnership means that interventions will occur earlier -I might spot something that you did not, which means that we will be able to help the person earlier
If there are any safeguarding concerns, this will be responded to effectively and earlier, as there are a number of professionals working on the same case.
Referrals
Working in partnership means that professionals will have built a working relationship with different colleagues/ partners
This means that the referral process will be more smooth and quick - you might know about a team, that I did not know about
