 A MINIMUM OF FOUR (4) TYPES OF SUPPORT AVAILABLE TO INDIVIDUALS AND OTHERS MUST BE DESCRIBED.

4.2. Support available to individuals and others:

• community resources

• substance misuse services

• support group, networks

• rehabilitation

• IAPT services (Improving Access to

Psychological Therapies)

• crisis services.

Promoting your own or an individuals mental health is important, however, sometimes professional support and guidance might be required. National and local services are provided for when additional support or help is needed using state, voluntary, charitable or private organisations. 

Here are two types services that could be accessed (you will need to include four).

Treating young people with emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties.

Support includes: depression, eating disorders, self-harm, abuse, violence anger, bipolar, psychosis and anxiety.;

Local NHS CAMHS services have a team of professionals to support young people, these include, therapists, support workers, social workers, psychologists et cetera.

General practioner (GP) is often the first line of communication. They will signpost/refer the individual to the relevant specialist.

Substance misuse usually refers to drug abuse. This is when the substance is used in amounts or harmful ways  to themselves or others. Drugs can be legal and illegal. Illegal drugs are not regulated and content and strength can vary.

Alcohol, cannabis, street drugs (spice), ecstasy, MDMA, and crystal meth - all may cause addiction. 

GP is usually first line of communication.

NHS offers psychological treatments (therapy, counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy [CBT]) and medication (methadone, highly addictive). Support grups may be signposted - Alcoholics Anonymous, or Narcotics Aonymous.
