Social Development

Involves how we interact with others, learning values, knowledge and skills that helps us relate to others and contribute positively to the society. For example, learning to take turns or wait in a queue is part of our social development. There are some key factors in our social development:

PsychoSOCIAL stages

ERIK ERIKSON,  a psychologist, developed a Theory of Psychosocial Development which consisted of eight life stages. The theory explains how individuals develop both socially and emotionally through each life stage. Erikson suggested that we all reach different stages at different times but we all go through the 8 stages. As times are changing and people are living longer, the final two stages may start later for some people.
