C3 - DESCRIBE CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
&
C4 - OUTLINE 4 SOURCES OF SUPPORT FOR LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT.
CPD ensures employees deliver practice which is current and in line with organisation and legislative requirements.
CPD is the process of staying up to date with the development with whichever sector you work in.
Your CPD involves:
identifying and documenting any formal or informal skills, knowledge and experience which you have gained.
ensuring there is a track record of any training and learning which you undertake at work
having a plan in place of how you will develop further - will include new skills and knowledge.
CPD involves having an action plan in place for any learning and development which need to be achieved and the time frame. These goals need to be realistic and achievable.
For example, you all have a goal to achieve a certain grade by the end of this academic year - this is realistic and achievable.
When you have achieved your goal, you can update your CPD and set new goals. You can also take time to reflect on what went well and what didn't go well so you can improve your working practices for next time.
