A2 - DESCRIBE SKILLS, BEHAVIOURS AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED BY HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE PRACTITIONERS.

SKILLS

Is a term which includes the talent, knowledge, competence, ability or expertise required to perform certain tasks. These are developed through work, life and education experiences. There are a range of skills which may be easier for some than others.

BEHAVIOURS

This involves ways of working and demonstration of formal behaviours such as show professionalism. This is separate from personal human behaviours i.e. aggression.

ATTRUBUTES

Simplified, refers to personal qualities or personality traits one may have. Such as being honest and patient.

What skills, behaviours and attributes do you think HSC practitioners need and why?

Now that you know the difference between these three terms, in your groups, create a mind map for each and list as many as you think are needed for practitioners.

You have 20 minutes and we will go through these as a class.

Independent Task

You are required to create a large poster for a job role you are advertising (you can chose any job role within HSC of your choice). The poster must describe the skills, behaviours and attributes you are looking for and the relevance for your chosen job role.

This task will be marked in class however, please make sure you upload a picture before you submit as confirmation that this task was completed and backs you up in case you lose it in the future.
