Cognitive development is related to thinking skills, problem solving and also decision making. It helps us understand the world around us. 

We develop these processing, language learning and reasoning skills as we mature.

Group Task 1

JEAN PIAGET, a famous psychologist, developed The Theory of Cognitive Development which describes how a child begins to understand the world. There are 4 stages within this theory, in your groups, each of you research one stage  look at the age range, the skills developed and examples of these. Then feedback to the rest of the group.

In your groups continue working on the power point which you created for D1. You are now required to choose ONE life-stage and outline all the cognitive development that will occur in that life-stage. Please make sure the slide is accurately labelled and it is clear which life-stage you have chosen. This life-stage will apply to all of D2.
