Master of Death and Spirit, Scion of God, former Famulus of the Silver Ladder, former member of the Ouroborians
Background: The son of Charles and Elizabeth Engels, Rota grew up in with his extended family in an old house on the South Side of the city. His mother died under suspicious circumstances in 1921 when he was 8. His father ultimately fell on hard times and gambling debts. He used the vestiges of his charms to seduce the wealthy widow Greta in 1930. This enraged Rota's sister Doris who took to spending time in the scandalous parts of Chicago. The darkness claimed her in 1932.
He withdrew from his father after that, discovering a darker and grander world. The young Moros communed with the dead and sought to find a path to the Supernal. When his father passed away in 1946, he inherited the house. Greta died shortly afterwards in 1947.
The son kept the house and made it his sanctum. His cabal (the Ouroborians) was a prominent force in the early Consilium with members from each order. Ultimately the Silver Ladder shunned him after they learned of his dark twisting of one of their greatest legacies. After a fight with something from the Underworld, two of the cabal were buried in the family plot (Chrysopoeia and Mobius). After that he withdrew from society.
He was murdered in the early years of the Mage war. His grimoire , the Codex of Spectral Evolution was stolen and he was largely forgotten. But from beyond the grave, he found a student, Adele to continue his work. His ghost was rescued from the Underworld. Then she completed his work by joining his ghost to the spirit formed of his legacy. This new entity then ascended.
