Feel free to take options from other books but run them by me first (especially spells from the order books, some of those will be modified or removed). A few other options that I want to highlight:
Merits:
Difficult to Ride (2 dots, Composure 3, Resolve 3)-you are resistant to being possessed and urged by spirits and ghosts. +2 dice to resist or +2 to your resistance trait.
Geomancer (1 dot, Occult specialty in Geomancy)-you have a sense for the ley line energies of the local landscape and know how to alter them to channel resonances into or away from a region. You may also be able to find undiscovered Hallows.
Master Exocist (2 dots, Spirit Arcanum 3)-you know how ghosts and spirits work and use that knowledge to expel them from those who are possessed. +3 dice for exorcisms and +3 dice to avoid being possessed.
Otherworldy Eyes (2 dots, Spirit Arcanum 1)-you have an easier time seeing the spirit world than the real world. When invoked you get +2 bonus to perception rolls when looking across the Guantlet and -2 penalty for things in the material world around them.
Pleasing Aura (3 dots)-spirits like you and follow you. +2 to socialize and persuasion rolls with spirits.
Spirit Ear (2 dots, Wits or Composure 3)-you have a knack for understanding what spirits say. You gain +1 to Empathy rolls with spirits and Subterfuge rolls to see through their lies.
Chicago Workings
with the acquirement of the notes left by Ellsworth, the following merit is now available.
Architectural Attunement (4 dots for mortals, 2 dots for Mages)
Prerequisites: Wits 2, Academics 2, Occult 1, Occult Specialty: Geomancy, Sacred Geometry or Mystic Architecture
Each time this Merit is bought, it applies to a specific city. The character can easily perceive any intentionally constructed mystic grid within the city, such as those created by Ellsworth and Burgess in Chicago. Further, he can perceive the resonance of the city as it pertains to human-built structures (make an extended-action roll using Wits + Occult, taking 10 minutes per roll, this does not require Mage Sight), and given enough time (an extended scrutiny action, rolling once per day of active meditation while traversing the zone in question) read its deeper fluctuations and influences. In addition, if the character were to erect his own mystic grid (using the Chicago Working Folio and years of planning), he would gain a +1 perception bonus and the Danger Sense Merit while within his grid.
Special: Geomancer merit is included in this merit and that merit counts towards dots in this merit.
