Background: Cob was a unique pattern spider, watching over the order of the city for over a century. Cob’s ties to the city made it far more powerful than most of its kind, but the tug-of-war between Chaos and Order also aged and weakened the spirit.
Cob was slain by a pack of vampires led by fire worshiping being known as Mephistopheles.
Description: Cob resembled a monstrous, mechanical “arachnoid.” From its abdomen grew eight jointed limbs, each ending in a prehensile gripper. Instead of muscles, they operated under a system of hydraulics. Fluid leaked from rusted joints, stiffening Cob’s movement.
Its abdomen was elongated and flexible, like a scorpion’s tail, for better manipulation of spinneret. Its metallic skin was dull black and patterned with rivets. Rust showed in spots, and other parts seemed melted. Bundles of wiring snaked between different body segments, some tangled or cut. Cob‘s many eyes glowed like television static.
