Background: Athaliah was born to a comfortably middle class family. Like many teens she was rebellious, particularly about her parent's conservative religion.
On her 15th birthday she ended up with the wrong crowd and took a psychedelic trip to Pandemonium. There she was met and tormented (initially) by demons who claimed to have escaped Solomen's Seal. In her rebelliousness and pride, she refused to cow to them and surprised them and herself by binding them to her will. Though the experience left her shaken, it also furthered her belief in herself.
Discovered by Fatima, an elderly Silver Ladder Acanthus, she ultimately left her mundane life by her 17th birthday. She was initially courted by Pispir and the Anchorites as an apprentice, but she rejected Pispir's offers of study and his philosophy. She learned much of her art through self study and the tutelage of a elder Mysterium Thyrsus named Titus.
When the war with the Seers flared up she was already a a second degree disciple. She soon found herself on the front lines fighting for the survival of the Concilium. Two incidents from that time particularly stuck with her.
The first was early in war shortly after her mentor was murdered. Distraught over his death she wandered the city aimlessly. It was then that a Seer attack found her. Angels of flame and brilliance materialized and attempted to destroy her. Only the timely intervention of Decima saved her. It was an end of innocence for her. She never was that trusting or incautious again.
The second was the final assault on the Ministry of Panopticon. Led by the Ezekiel, the Pentacle strove to cripple the Ministry to allow them to operate in better secrecy. She led the charge into a major sanctum hidden in a media headquarters. Wielding Adept level powers of Mind, she turned the Seers mortal allies against them. Few know how she killed the four Seers or how much it shook her sanity. Only one Seer escaped, Daneel, and long bidden his time, waiting for revenge.
She has spent much of the last decade focused on her studies. By summoning a Wraith of Pandemonium, she learned the legacy of Bene Ashmedai. Her supporters note that the Ladder has sanctioned such actions before and to good result.
Because of her hostile relationship, both personally and philosophically, with Pispir, he has blocked her advancement. But this has recently changed and she is now a Claviger. Her Cryptology, the Ninth Circle, grows larger every day and she mentors two of the most promising students the Ladder has seen in years. One, Mammon, she has even inducted into her legacy.
She completed the investigation of Hippolyta's disappearance, ingratiating herself with the Adamantine Arrow and Consilium. She along with the Ebon Cross discovered that the Black Dog caused the young Sentinel's death.
She achieved the rank of Master in the Arcanum of Spirit, facing her inner demons and several Seers of the Throne. Despite being blown up she managed to take Pispir's position as Councilor. A destiny was been hinted a one where she defeated Midas. Though she didn't kill him, he was driven from the city and his power base destroyed.
Now she must repair the damage of what she wrought.
Description: A stunning woman in her early thirties. She changes her look constantly favoring styles that shock others. She favors cardinal red business dress and black shirts with her spiky dark hair matching her black nail polish and complimenting a deep tan. Of course with her skill with life magic she could go with pastel colored hair complimenting her pale skin while dressed in a snake skin skirt, thigh high boots, and a leather jacket with metal studs. With a few piercings to boot.
Her favored weapon is an enchanted chainsaw which she has tied to several potent spirits. This is due to a pact with some chainsaw spirits that she made for their aid in defeating a twisted spirit while studying in Canada.
