Description: The powerful spirit (Countess or perhaps a Matchoiness) of the Chicago River is also known as the Gray Lady. When she appears, she resembled a woman in gray with half of her features rotting and dead and the other half inhumanly beautiful. She is thought to be mad, her mind broken when the river's course was reversed. It is known that there are many verges along her banks and those who swim in her waters in shadow can be torn apart by opposing currents.
Evidence suggests that supporters of the Great Fire Spirit are attempting to weaken or corrupt this powerful nature spirit as a prelude to its return.
