Description: An African American woman with one arm. Thyia is stern and figgety. She keeps her head down and her back to the wall — and she always positions herself where she can see all the exits. She talks in a low voice, dresses so she won’t call attention to herself and her tired eyes betray the fatigue of a lifetime of hiding and running. Her nimbus appears as a series of eyes watching in all directions.
