The Exile, Archmaster of the Arcanum of Prime, "Former" Member of the Free Council
Background: A former member of the Free Council, Cicero was obsessed with the power science and imagination. Towards the end of the Mage War, he betrayed his cabal, the Ascendant Singularity for unknown reasons while they were in the Astral. Afterwards he changed his Shadow name from Challenger to Cicero. When the first new Council met he told them something that convinced them to stay their hand. Apparently that secret was his plan to achieve Ascension and his revelation of Archmastery. He was exiled from Mage society but protected by their laws. He set himself up as a power broker, trading tass, imbued items, and knowledge of hallows for money and favors.
Meanwhile he was slowly rearranging the ley lines of the city, channeling the energies in arcane ways. A member of an ancient legacy known as the Tellurians, he knew much about the ebb and flow of resonance and the power contained within. He had an apprentice in Gary, named Plotimus.
In exchange for a reading of the Chicago Workings folio he directed the cabal to an unclaimed Hallow.
His plans angered Midas and the Seers of the Throne however and his sanctum was destroyed. But it was revealed that he was an Archmage working to release the Supernal god beneath the city and use it to ascend. He reassured the Ebon Cross he was working to minimize the damage and that his plan was the best of all possible choices. In the end he succeeded in his plans and Ascended.
