Background: Stone joined the Ascendant Singularity along with Challenger. The two young men were close friends and acted as Hand and Fist for the older members of the cabal.
While in the Astral retrieving the memory of an Artifact, Challenger, who had stayed behind, betrayed him and the others. They were killed while meditating, their souls trapped there forever. They retreated to the Spire and built the dominion as a palace to their aims. But Stone grew bitter and jealous of Challenger. His rage eventually overcame him and he slowly devoured the others, stealing their powers and will.
