20. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Gal 2:20
THIS! IS THE GOSPEL!
Galatians 2:20 is arguably the most important verse in the Bible. Praise God, our death to the Adamic nature, through crucifixion with Christ, is not only true of Paul but also of you and me, BY FAITH.
Contrary to popular belief, Jesus did not die "in our place" nor did He take our "sins" to the cross.
Jesus took YOU to the cross
5. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,6. knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.7. For he who has died has been freed from sin.
Ro 6:5-7
God's hatred of the sinful nature we inherited from Adam, goes much deeper than the children of Adam, (all humans) commonly understand. Accordingly, God's salvation from sin also runs much deeper.
The only salvation for a sinner from his sin is through death. A dead liar cannot lie anymore, and a dead thief cannot steal anymore, nor oppress his neighbor.
This is how God saves us
John 3 16 is commonly misunderstood. What it is really saying, is simply that God loved Adam by crucifying him in Christ, with resurrection following. In this way, Adam is delivered from his cursed nature and resurrected into the eternal Life of Christ, by death and resurrection, BY FAITH.
Jesus said the way up is the way down and the reality for us is that resurrection and eternal life follows crucifixion.
3. Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?4. Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Rom 6:3-4
Baptism is a spiritual thing that God does by placing us in Christ, - specifically into His death. Resurrection, which is the "Born Again" reality follows death in Christ.
This is a spiritual mystery and not commonly understood or preached in churches today.
Our hope and eternal life in Christ is spiritual and that does mean that we cannot look at the flesh, our lives in this world, use our natural brains and try to comprehend this.
The Holy Spirit must reveal this in our hearts and souls, over time, so that we may "walk in newness of life" by faith in Jesus Christ. Nothing else will work.
2. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
...........
14. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.15. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.16. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Cor 2
Not a well known and well preached fact
I have been walking with the Lord for 44 years now, born again and Spirit filled for 27 years, in full time ministry on and off for 20 years and yet I tell you, I did not see or understand the cross of Jesus, nor the resurrection by the Spirit until the Lord began revealing it to me through the ministry of Andrew Murray in November 2016.
This growing revelation that is summed up so powerfully in Romans chapters 6 & 8 is transforming my life and here on this page and everywhere else I will endeavor to share this Revelation of Jesus Christ with every living creature.
Some of what I write may sound new, surprising and upsetting, but all I ask is search it out in scripture and in your spirit with His Spirit.
Maranatha - even so come Lord Jesus…
