If you believe that you are dead to sin (really simply dead) in "Christ crucified" you will be dead to sin and you will float upwards to holiness and to God like a cork through water.
It takes time, but the process and direction is certain.
If there is no growth, no upward buoyancy then there is reason for concern - great concern might I add, like a baby that does not pick up weight. (PS: Babies that do not pick up weigh all die)
Sinless perfection is certainly the goal, it is certainly possible and is certainly to what we are called and empower in Christ, but it does take time.
