The Church of Jesus Christ is an organism, in fact His body. (just like every living thing God created).
Everything man creates is non-organic, and when we farm it becomes GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) quite quickly.
The word "Organic Church" is obviously flavor of the month, but it is still a useful term.
GMO farming produces more tons of wheat, than Organic farming. But it is typically powerless, nutrition-less, and sterile.
It cannot reproduce.
GMO Church is the same. By focusing on volume, using modern western strategies, GMO Church has huge budgets, huge buildings, huge conferences and huge numbers of people. The methods employed, at a typical Sunday Service has just as much in common with the early church as Christmas does.
Its Roman Catholic add-onns and more often than not damaging to work of the Spirit.
There are good and practical reason for the offering, sing song, sermon, altar call and kiddies church, and yet not one of these things are visible in the Bible. And worst of all is the pastor. The notion that one man, typically not an elder, gets paid and then controls the church did not start in big numbers until about 300 AD.
Many in the Western Church has been preaching "we must get back to Acts" for years, but unfortunately it is mostly not a Bona Fide effort at employing the same principles as we see with Jesus and the Apostles. It is more often a seeking after miracles (sensationalism).
The church is the Body of Christ, and as such functions as a body. The regimentilization that the Roman Catholics inherited from the Roman Empire's impeccable systems, have survived to this day in the reformed and charismatic churches. It is interesting to note that the Charismatics in fact deploy more Roman Catholic command and control structures than the reformed churches.
The Charismatic pastor acts as some sort of retro "high priest", a proxy Christ, if you would and as such is often untouchable and above the law. The Pastor's opinion is the standard of interpretation of scripture and he is typically not accountable even in cases of divorce and other excesses. The method is nurture and control, not equip and release.

Fact is the "pastor model" is not Apostolic, nor does it embrace the Five Fold ministry, the priesthood of all believers or plurality of leadership.
So what is the solution?
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—
16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:11-16
The Five Fold must equip the saints to minister in the manner shown above and the good order is to be maintained by Elders (plural) , who are not necessarily Five Fold themselves.
This model is found in scripture, and the natural divisions of power and authority safeguards the church.
There are many books about this and millions of Christians already functioning in this model of church.
Please do investigate this and find the productivity, power, joy and liberty that Holy Spirit works in us all.
