I gave my heart to Jesus!
Well done!
But what does it mean?
It means that you received the seed of the word into your heart/mind and you are now bearing fruit because of that seed.
You have been "begotten again" or "born again".
Begotten again by God
1 Peter 1:3-4
Jesus is the "Word of God" He is God's Seed. God's sperma to use the correct Greek word.
Victory over sin comes form the new birth. Being a son of God.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed (sperma) remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
1 John 3:8-10
When you "hear the word of the Kingdom" and RECEIVE it, and UNDERSTAND it, and ACCEPT it, that is when you become a "son of God" because you are "begotten again" or "born again". Also see John 3
Parable of the sower to explain the process of receiving seed and bearing fruit.
23 “But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Matthew 13:23
20 “But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
Mark 4:20
The Mosaic Covenant was marriage covenant between God and Israel. There were 10 big commands and 613 other commands of which circumcision, tithing, the Sabbath and not eating pork were but a few.
God however always knew there was going to be another husband for His people with a different covenant, namely the New Covenant, aka the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.
32 “not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord.
33 “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
34 “No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Jeremiah 31:32-34
16 “And it shall be, in that day,” Says the Lord, “That you will call Me ‘My Husband,’ And no longer call Me ‘My Master,’
Hosea 2:16
The "message of Moses" was seed of a husband and the "message of Jesus" is also seed of a husband. Who's baby will you bear.
The power a Christian has is rooted in the fact that he has died to the former husband and been married to a "new husband".
1 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man.
4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another— to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.
5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.
6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
Romans 7:1-6
Moses (the Law) has been replaced by Jesus (the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus)
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,
4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Romans 8:2-4
