Jesus said that new wine requires a new wineskin.
22. “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”
Mark 2:22
The wine is the gospel and the wineskin the container, which is the church liturgy.
There are many problems with the pastortution model of church that we find in KFC.
In order to facilitate the working of the Spirit through all the members of the church we do not have a stage, pulpit, band sermon or a show on Sundays. As much as people enjoy KFC most Christians older than two or three years realize that growth in KFC is limited. KFC is a lot like a primary school. It’s great to engine your work in the Lord but as Hebrews 5 so clearly shows there is a standard of progress and growth required that KFC really just cannot achieve or support, or even benefit from.
The sermon, the cycles and the “prophecies” al repeat along very benign themes like “revival” and “outpouring of the Spirit” or “incoming harvest” year after year. It’s really sad to have to say this but is unfortunately true. If you are not experiencing this cycle at your church and are really growing decisively in the Spirit then maybe it isn’t KFC. Praise God, keep going!
