Jesus loves us very much and does not delight in our suffering.
HE is also with us in all out tribulation:
But Jesus went through tribulation and death for us and so will we.
The notion that Christians are going get plucked up to Jesus, to avoid the great tribulation is not in the Bible.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His saints.
Psalm 116:15
20“teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
It started with a man called JN Darby around 1860.
No Christian believes or discovers this so called "pre-tribulation rapture" from scripture, because there simply is not passage of scripture says we do.
One has to practice HAVOC Theology ( Half a Verse Out of Context) to get to the "pre-tribulation rapture". Its an attempt at comforting the flesh not obeying the Spirit.
Please note that with HAVOC theology you can prove every sweet little fantasy you like. HAVOC Theology is more a revelation of the preacher's heart and intent, than of God's.
We must read the Bible in context. Reading in context slows things up and complicates them, and so very few Christians have the capacity for it. Most Christians prefer "paper-back theology". You buy a bunch of little booklets or sermons, that are full of HAVOC Theology and choose the one that makes you happy and makes you feel safe. The ability to check these against scripture is a lost art in the church for the most part. This is going to cost many people their lives.
Jesus was taken to heaven AFTER being persecuted and tortured for the gospel and so will we.
13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
The Elect are in the tribulation
21 “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
Matthew 24:21-22
Spooky end time prophets with stories about the end will be everywhere
23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it.
24 “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
25 “See, I have told you beforehand.
26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.
27 “For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
28 “For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
Matthew 24:23-28
Then the elect are gathered to him
29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
30 “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 “And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 24:29-31
It is the very visible earth wide Revelation of Jesus Christ and is part and parcel of the Battle of Armageddon.
Not a secret disappearance of a few scared Christians.
