Guys,
We are not called to judge another man's heart, but we must judge their deeds and words and see to what fruit it leads. we must use scripture and our renewed minds.
Preachers like Ian Clayton and Tod Bentley always confuse me. I can understand why those who don't read and love the Bible want to go theses meetings and think it is Christian, I really do see why the babies thinks it is OK.
BUT
Chasing miracles and Harry Potter type power is not what Jesus or Paul taught . Yes Jesus and Paul did powerful miracles but they did not promote or preach miracles. They preached and taught holiness self control and how to love God and His children.
I cant say for sure Ian Clayton is not Christian but a trickster, but his ministry, his miracles and translation and magic powers this side of the grave as a goal is not a Biblical focus at all. Yes he mixes in HAVOC theology (Hal a Verse out Of Context) and so bedazzles miracle and sign seekers.
12 But He sighed deeply in His spirit, and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Assuredly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.”
Mark 8:12
The charismatic church is based for the most part a lustful low budget gospel. Preachers like Kenneth Hagin were for real (as much a humans can be), they lived holy obedient lives but their disciple like Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar etc, dumbed down the "Faith movement" to good plain old lust.
Its now just spiritualized lust with the phrase "in Jesus name at the end".
Ian Clayton and the like also preach complex new-fangled stories that no one else ever saw or preached and they bedazzle the baby Christians.
My question is why can we not stick to the obvious story line in scripture and accept that it is about a holy God who will marry and virgin and will destroy Babylon (Hollywood Wall street and all is its children).
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
1 John 2:15-17
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
5 “For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
6 “Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her.
7 “In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’
8 “Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
Revelation 18:4-8
Neither Jesus nor Paul or any of the Apostle preached that we should try and control the banks and the governments of the world. They taught that we should be holy and control ourselves.
When Jesus returns HE will rule over the nations. We are NOT called to rule over the nations before Christ returns!!
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 19:11-16
we will rule with him, NOT before Him. NOT on His behalf.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
Revelation 20:4-6
Jesus and Paul taught that we should be subject to the current human authorities and rule over ourselves. They did not even try to preach the liberation of slaves. Jesus Kingdom is NOT going to be enforced unto Babylon BEFORE HE RETURNS
1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
2 Timothy 4:1-5
