Well, as you might know there is no "Old Testament".
A word search in the Bible on "Old Testament " as well as "New Testament" will yield "zero hits".
The phrases "Old Testament " and "New Testament" are man-made and are like page numbers in the Bible.
Humans added it for easy reference, much later than the original writing, and in this case it has caused catastrophic theological assumptions.
Please see there is no Old Testament..
Having said that lets look at what the correct divisions of the Hebrew writings indeed are:
One can learn about God by looking at how He relates to Israel and the Nations in the Hebrew Books, but you have to understand that He is dealing with those nations according to covenant they are under.
Just like watching a sport you are not familiar with, like Polo, if you don understand the rules of that specific game you will never understand the offside rules, the penalties and the tactics. You wont understand the referee decisions and you wont enjoy watching the game
So please do not yank portions of scripture out of context, when you are desperate for a promise form God or playing Bible Bingo.
Read the promises in context! Then you will really learn something.
Funny little aside:
Under the Mosaic covenant God promises Israel health and wealth if they obey, death and destruction if they disobey. He never promises them heaven or eternal life and never threatens them with hell.
1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
2 “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:
3 “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
Deuteronomy 28:1-3
Heaven and Hell were introduced in the New Covenant by Jesus Himself.
What Jesus does promise obedient and holy Christians is persecution in the short term and eternal life resurrection and glory in the long term.
16 “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
17 “These things I command you, that you love one another.
18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
19 “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
20 “Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
21 “But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.
22 “If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
John 15:16-22
Why do many Christians think they have a health and wealth covenant??
Why do many Christians go an dabble in God's Marriage covenant with Israel (the Law of Moses is a marriage covenant between the Nation of Israel and God) when Jesus is our husband under the New Covenant?
Weird!
and dangerous!
