Beloved
intimate affection for the disobedient and "the Love of God" is not the same thing.
A very important word that we should understand in scripture is the word "us".
Throughout the Bible there has always been "God's people" and "those who are outside".
It is very sweet and humanistic and politically correct to try and include pigs and dogs into the covenant God has ordained for the sheep. But is not Biblical! In fact it is rebellion.
How did this humanistic gospel start?
Since the second world war a politically correct inclusive gospel has emerged, one which regrettably differs tremendously from the very cutting and very decisive story we find in the Bible.
The profound and powerful portion below becomes meaningless when you try to include unbelievers in it.
Who was this written to?
2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 1:2
If this includes disobedient unbelievers, then really what is the point of it? Including Hitler and Esau does not save them or help them or put them in correct standing with God, (unless you think everybody is going to heaven.)
However if you face the obvious fact that this portion is applicable to believers, to the saints as it were, then cutting and powerful truth starts to become real. You don't have to and in fact cannot and dare not carry on like Esau or Hitler or common sinners anymore because of this powerful God has done for you and in you, and not in Esau and not in Hitler.
Suddenly you have no excuse for your powerless life that looks just like the Godforsaken people around you.
You simply can't include Hitler and Esau and hope it will still make sense.
12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,
20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled
22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—
23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
Colossians 1:12-23
The sins that are over running the church in the west today, divorce, love of money and gender confusion, among many others are simply the result of trying to make pigs and dogs comfortable, and not understanding that sheep and dogs are not the same to God.
25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me.
26 “But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.
27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
29 “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
30 “I and My Father are one.”
John 10:25-30
The famous saying "the church is the only organisation that exist for the benefit of the non members is utter rubbish.
The non-members do not benefit at all.
Those who are "outside"
12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?
13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”
1 Corinthians 5:12-13
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
Revelation 22:14-16
