Why do I say this is righteous?
Well do think 1+1=3 is righteous? .... obviously not
So here is the next step in this thought experiment
Is it a act of love to say 1+1=3? or is it more loving to say 1+1=2?
Can lying and being false be an act of love? Do I love the mathematics when I tout lies and twist its rules?
Surely not!
Then why do we think that we dis regard God word, His Law and still stay that we love him?
Scripture tells a very different story
23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
24 “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.
John 14:23-24
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
1 John 5:2-4
Scripture shows that love and obedience are inseparable
This point is this.............., human sentimentality and the Love of God are not the same thing. The affection and intimacy we have with the unholy, the vile, the perverted is not something God shares with us.
That we must be nice to them like the Good Samaritan, yes of course..
But make no mistake God loves Israel, He loves His own, and demands that we love Him in the same way.
footnote: all the above love and obedience scripture come form John, the Love Apostle.
This narcissistic humanistic notion that God loves the disobedient is maybe the biggest lie in the modern church and is going to cost people their lives.
Abiding in God's love is not the same as abiding in you own lust...
bottom line is when we really love God, and KNOW God we stick to His rules, that what David
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
John 14:15
25 My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.
26 I have declared my ways, and You answered me; Teach me Your statutes.
27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts; So shall I meditate on Your wondrous works.
28 My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.
29 Remove from me the way of lying, And grant me Your law graciously.
30 I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me.
31 I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame!
32 I will run the course of Your commandments, For You shall enlarge my heart.
33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end.
34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
36 Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.
37 Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.
38 Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You.
39 Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgments are good.
40 Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness.
Psalm 119:25-40
