I am so utterly happy that I can now preach Christ Crucified just like Paul. THIS IS THE GOSPEL!
All these years I was a substandard Christian, a bad pastor or whatever with Paul being some superhero like Mother Theresa that I could not emulate.
I DIED WITH CHRIST JUST AS MUCH PAUL DID
20. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Ga 2:20
WE PREACH CHRIST CRUCIFIED
23. but we preach CHRIST CRUCIFIED, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,24. but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.25. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
WE GLORY IN THE LORD BECAUSE WE ARE IN THE LORD
26. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.27. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;28. and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,29. that no flesh should glory in His presence.30. BUT OF HIM YOU ARE IN CHRIST JESUS, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—31. that, as it is written, “HE WHO GLORIES, LET HIM GLORY IN THE LORD.”
1 Co 1:23-31
LOGIZOMAI translated IMPUTED RECKON AND ACCOUNT
1. O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among YOU AS CRUCIFIED?2. This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?3. Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?4. Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?5. Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—6. just as ABRAHAM “BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS ACCOUNTED ( LOGIZOMAI – to reckon same word as Rom 6) to him for righteousness.” Ga 3:1-6
We need to RECKON in the same way as God reckoned. And Why? Because the righteousness is real it’s is actual it’s not ethereal good intentions, it is actual. IMPUTED is also the word LOGOZOMAI. It’s not Jesus died in my place, its I am also dead because I died with Jesus (not only Paul).
This is also why Paul say twice that baptism into Jesus death has the natural consequence of the cessation of sin. It is not a righteousness that is spate form good works and good fruit.
1. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2. Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?3. Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?4. Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.5. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,6. knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.7. For he who has died has been freed from sin.8. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,9. knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.10. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.11. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.12. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.13. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.14. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. 15. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
Ro 6:1-15
That is why James says faith without works is dead.
18. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.19. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!20. But do you want to know, O foolish man, that FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD?21. Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?22. Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?23. And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it WAS ACCOUNTED (LOGIZOMAI) to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.
Jas 2:18-23
And why John says HE WHO PRACTICES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS,
4. Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.5. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.6. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.7. Little children, let no one DECEIVE YOU. HE WHO PRACTICES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, just as He is righteous.8. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.9. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. 1 Jn 3:4-9
THIS NOT MORE PRESSURE – ITS IS MORE CLEAR VISION away for the blinding of Satan
14. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.15. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.16. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.17. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.18. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Co 3:14-18
GOD DID IT ALL!
10. that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. Eph 1:10
