All Christian agree that the church should be a Theocracy. The vast majority of Christians then choose their favorite political model of government and proclaim it to be a “Theocracy” and to be the Biblical model. Very few if any will be honest enough to agree that their church is using a standard human political model but calling it “Theocracy”
Typical Human model are:
· Autocracy – power of one
· Democracy – power of many
· Oligarchy – power of few (elite)
· Anarchy – lawlessness
Why do we think church government doesn’t matter.
Pastortution
The pastortute has stripped your autonomy, interdependence, intradependence and yet we hope for spiritual growth.
Maybe we can grow under autocracy because oppression suffering is good for spiritual growth
Pardon me for judging, but do you really think you and your fellow tithers are growing optimally?
Have you not just opted for assurance of salvation, some vague blessing on your job, a 50% marriage and hoping the kids get saved?
I postulate that there is more and that the average tither is in thorny ground (money is the measure of all things), courtesy the pastortute who preachers that tithing is key church life and to discipleship.
It’s clear that developmental models play a huge role in ultimate outcomes.
There is a reason why the industrial revolution happened in England around the mid-19th century. There were critical success factors in place at theta time and place and it brought best out the engineers and capitalists. (Not everything was good off course like pollution and child labor)
So why do we think that the dumbed down pastortution model of church is OK? That as long as we have a good man as pastor then the church will be powerful and spiritual.
That the church is a mess and the divisions and denominations are one obvious fruit of pastortution. Why are so many still committed to a commercial, dumbed model of church? Nuts!
