>>>Traveller: The New Era

>>> Character Sheet

Here you will find the Character Sheet designed by the crew of L'Argonauta for Traveller:The New Era. Those familiarized with the game will realize that we have mixed the original TNE Character Sheet and Working Character Generation Worksheet, maintaining the basic structure but adding some modifications. So, once printed, the rear of the page shows all the character generation process while the front of the page contains all the needed in-game information for the player. Following the character creation procedure, the player and the Referee should begin filling out the rear part of the sheet, generating attributes, determining homeworld characteristics and default skills, choosing the background skills, deciding about what to do in each term, etc. We have included a few notes to make all the procedure easier. Once finished the character generation, the resulting data can be written down in the front side of the sheet, while the rear side will be kept as a reminder of the vital path of the character before starting his/her life as adventurer.

>>>Some brief remarks about the new things you will find in this Character Sheet

  • Ammunition counters.

  • Space for the player to write down his/her unexpended improvement points (skill and initiative points).

  • Space for the player to write down his/her weapons game characteristics.

  • New column in the Hit Capacity Table for the Armor Value of each body location.

  • New column in the Hit Capacity Table with the number of each body part used in the random location roll.

  • New Column in the Equipment and Properties List (rear face), for the player to write down the location of his/her equipment. This is not only to know if the character is carrying or wearing a particular equipment or if he/she has it in any other place (ship's locker, vehicle...), but to know the time expended to use it in an emergency situation. As a quick guide, we use the following house rule:

    • Equipment in combat webbing (or equivalent): 1 combat action.

    • Equipment in easily accessible bag or pocket: 1 round.

    • Equipment in backpack: 2 rounds.

  • Boxes to mark the skills used by the character during the gaming session. They work as a guide to both the player and the Referee to know which skills can be improved with the unexpended skill points, if any other mechanism (like Instruction) cannot be used, and the player is only allowed to invest skill points in the skills his/her character had been using.

  • New table for the player to keep track of the activities and events related to each four-year term (careers, contacts, attribute rolls, promotions, comissions, Ship DM, etc.)

  • Space for the portrait of the character.

  • Space to write down the most rellevant traits of the personality of the character.
