Narrator: And now back to…Part Three? Oh my God! This is longer than those Hallmark holiday movies!
Joel: Brock Harrison and Flint Harrison, you both are under arrest.
Brock: Oh man.
Flint: Let me handle this son. Please, take me. I’m an old man. I’ve already lived my life to the full extent. Brock is just a kid, he’s innocent.
Joel: Save it for the investigation. Your son is under arrest for the consumption of alcohol while he’s still a minor and you sir are under arrest for supplying alcohol for this minor. We have laws in this town. Harsh as it may be, it has to be done!
Flint: Please. I beg of you. We’re innocent. It’s the bartender’s fault! He’s the one who fed my son the beer.
Spenser: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. (The next morning at the diner)
Abigail: Ta-da!
Theresa: Auntie, what on earth is that?
Abigail: It’s a karaoke machine. I got it on sale on the QVC. It’ll be perfect to draw in more customers to our diner.
Theresa: Auntie, our job is to serve food to the people. Do you want us to sing while we’re doing that too?
Abigail: Of course not. The people of the diner can sing too. And, I was thinking we could have a karaoke night on New Years.
Theresa: I’m not so sure I like this idea of yours.
Abigail: It’s a great one, young lady. Winona, Misty, you like the idea, right?
Misty: I think I’m going to side with Theresa on this one.
Winona: But there are some people who might like the idea. Give it a shot. We might pull in a big crowd. (A little later at Marisa’s therapy session)
Glacia: So you and Tracey are back together again?
Marisa: Yup.
Glacia: I’m actually surprised, Marisa.
Marisa: It feels really great to be with him again.
Glacia: And even after all of the doubts, the worries, and the bad memories, you’re willing to go back to him?
Marisa: I’ve gone over this in my head and…it's just that after all we’ve been through, we don’t want to be with anyone else. (At Tracey’s house)
Cheryl: Oh my.
Tracey: What are you reading, another article about the dying rain-forest?
Cheryl: No. I’m reading a love story online. Boy, you can tell that this author went through a lot. And to think she’s someone our age!
Tracey: Hmm…What’s it about?
Cheryl: Oh the usual, a good old-fashioned love triangle! I am a sucker for that. And by the looks of your love life, so are you Tracey!
Tracey: Oh shut up! Daisy cheated on me so I guess karma kicked in. Marisa forgave me and that’s what matters.
Cheryl: Well keep in mind, women hold onto everything. They never forget anything and with that ability, if they get in trouble, they can use something that happened in the past as a weapon. It’s a very effective method! Oh, look at the time! I’m late for my meeting with the Liberal Society. We could always use an extra person at the meeting.
Tracey: No thanks. Not after the last time where we were tied in chains.
Cheryl: (Giggles) Hey, after the night in jail, we got our point across. I’ll be back later. (She leaves)
Tracey: Hmm…I’ve got nothing better to do, might as well read this. (At Ash’s house)
Delia: A cop? First the army and now a cop!
Oak: Delia, calm down.
Misty: I’m actually surprised by this decision. Did they really ask you to join?
Delia: Ash, if they are pressuring you into doing anything you don’t want to do, you don’t have to go through with it.
Ash: Mom, its okay. I was fine in the army and since I have that training, Joel says I’m a shoe-in for the squad.
Delia: But being in the line of fire on a daily basis? You could get killed!
Oak: Now let's try to look on the bright side. I mean, he could have a bright future in the law enforcement.
Delia: (Glares at him) You’re supposed to be on my side!
Ash: Well Misty, what do you think?
Misty: (Sighs) As much as it may scare me that you’re putting your life in danger yet again, I’m going to respect your decision and allow you to join if you want to.
Delia: Oh Misty, not you too! (That night in Delia’s bedroom)
Oak: You’re awfully quiet tonight.
Delia: Sam, you know why I’m quiet. It’s because I can’t help but think of all the horrible things that could happen to my son.
Oak: Can’t you be positive for once? (She growls) Oh…um, what I mean to say was…
Delia: Forget it Samuel. Ash is my only son. If something were to ever happen to him, I don’t know what I would do.
Oak: I see what you mean. But think of it this way. If the boy applies himself in this direction, he can have a great career ahead of him. And this can be the beginning of an exciting future. He could perhaps work for higher organizations like the CIA or even the FBI. I’ve always had high hopes for the boy!
Delia: You are absolutely no help to me. (She turns off the light)
Oak: I just ruined my chance at having sex tonight, didn’t I! (At Misty’s house)
Sakura: Karaoke? You’re kidding, right?
Misty: I wish I were. Miss Abby is going to have a karaoke night on New Years Eve.
Sakura: Well, you know you could invite the gang over to the diner.
Misty: I want a crowd, not a mob scene. Plus I’m not going to do anything that could jeopardize me in losing my job. You saw what happened at the party the other night.
Sakura: Just a few friends, that’s all. Ash, Brock, Marisa, Marcus…You know, the good ones!
Misty: You’ll be there too, right?
Sakura: You bet.
Misty: And get up and sing karaoke?
Sakura: Don’t push your luck. (The next morning at Tracey’s house)
Cheryl: (Yawns) I need some breakfast! (Gasp) Tracey, have you been at the computer all night long?
Tracey: I was too pissed to go back to sleep.
Cheryl: What happened?
Tracey: I spent all night reading these stories and it’s a good thing I did. Marisa wrote these stories. And all of her recent stories are about me!
Cheryl: How do you know it’s her?
Tracey: Her email address was listed.
Cheryl: Oh. I must admit, she’s good!
Tracey: Cheryl!
Cheryl: I’m not going to lie!
Tracey: She spent the time we were apart degrading me in her stories and making me into a bad guy. Not only that, she ended up telling an embarrassing story about me. Here, read this. (She scans the page)
Cheryl: Oh my God! She told that story?
Tracey: Shocking, huh?
Cheryl: I’m assuming that when she wrote this, she was pretty pissed at you. Otherwise, I don’t think she’d write something horribly embarrassing about you. (Later at the police station)
Joel: So, you’ve decided to return?
Ash: Yes. I’m willing to give it a shot.
Joel: Well, I’ll be the judge of that. You’ll go through several months of intensive training and only after that, we base our decision on your overall performance throughout the time.
Cameron: Come on little man. I’ll give you the grand tour. This here is Lunick. He’s also going to start off as a trainee.
Ash: Hi Lunick, I’m Ash.
Lunick: Oh, you’re the guy who found out the information about that pop singer, Erika. Not really the line of the police and more of the paparazzi, but very good work.
Ash: You heard?
Cameron: Of course. You’re the talk of the whole station.
Elita: Cameron, here are the Harrison files you asked me to get.
Cameron: Very good. Boys, this is Elita. She handles the paperwork around here. Elita, this here is Ash and Lunick. They’re the newbies.
Elita: Very nice to meet you boys. If you have any questions you’d like to ask me, don’t hesitate.
Aria: And just where have you been Cameron? Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t you supposed to be in the interrogation room?
Cameron: Sorry Aria, I was just showing these young boys around. Aria, I want you to meet…
Aria: Not now. (Walks away)
Cameron: I better go deal with this before Aria’s head explodes. Elita, could you give them the rest of the tour?
Elita: Sure. As you can see, this job is all rush, rush 24/7. But there’s never a dull moment. Come along boys. (In another room)
Joel: Sir, do you realize the depth of your trouble here?
Flint: With all due respect Officer…Joel, you’ve got the wrong guys. I simply took my eldest son to a bar.
Joel: Your UNDERAGE son.
Flint: True. But I never gave him a beer. I got him a soft drink. It was the bar’s fault, not mine. They gave him the beer when I said root beer! ROOT! If anyone should be held responsible for my son’s illness, it should be that bartender! (At Kelly’s house)
Kelly: (Machine) Hi, you’ve reached Kelly’s answering machine. If you’re hearing this, that means I’m not around to pick up the phone. But leave a message and I’ll get back to you. Have a nice day. (Beeps)
Marcus: Kelly? Come on Kelly. I know you’re there ignoring my call. Please Kelly. We need to talk. (Beeps)
Kelly: (Sighs) I want to believe you Marcus…But… (Groans) Should I really take my sister’s words into consideration? (Flashback to a couple of days ago)
Mother: Kelly, look who came for a visit! It’s Rebecca!
Kelly: Big sis! (They hug)
Rebecca: How’s it going Kelly? I haven’t seen you in such a long time.
Kelly: We have so much catching up to do. (Phone rings) In a little bit! I’ll be back in a minute. (Picks up) Hello?
Marcus: Hey Kelly.
Kelly: Marcus, I’m so glad to hear from you! My sister just came back into town and I was wondering if she can come with us to see the new Sean Penn movie.
Marcus: You have a sister?
Kelly: Technically half-sister. You know, we have different mothers.
Marcus: Oh. Well listen, the reason I called you was because I have to cancel our movie date. It’s just that I already promised Marisa that I would help her out tomorrow. But hey, maybe we can catch the movie in a couple of days. I hope you’re not too disappointed.
Kelly: No, not at all. This will actually give me some time to catch up with my big sis.
Marcus: Well, we can meet up again later in the week. I better get out of here. Talk to you later.
Kelly: Right. (Hangs up)
Rebecca: Hey, there you are. Who was that on the phone?
Kelly: Oh, I was just talking to my boyfriend.
Rebecca: Your boyfriend, huh?
Kelly: Well yeah, we’ve been dating for almost two years now.
Rebecca: Oh yes, that’s right. Now what was his name again?
Kelly: I’ve told you before, his name is Marcus. We went to high school together.
Rebecca: Oh, you have to show me a picture of him!
Kelly: Okay! (Pulls out a photo album) Here’s one!
Rebecca: Oh, now aren’t you two just the cutest? (Flips the page) Huh?
Kelly: Oh yeah, that’s us with our friends Marisa and Tracey.
Rebecca: (Thinking) It’s her…That bitch, Marisa! It’s all coming back to me! (Flashback to five years ago)
Marisa: There’s no silver lining to your story whatsoever! Every thing about this is making my skin crawl.
Rebecca: Keep in mind that I am 18 and I’m not living at home with my parents. I am entitled to live out my life the way I want to.
Marisa: You can’t keep on having sex on the premises. Chances are that someone might catch onto your dirty, little secret. But I guess that part has already happened.
Rebecca: No one is going to find out, as long as you keep your trap shut. You’ve only been here for less than one semester, but you’ve made quite the reputation for yourself. I have heard that you are nothing more than Mary’s assistant in the office. But then, there are the rumors that fly that say you’re a world-class snitch. That’s right! I know that with anything bad, you’ll go straight to the principal. (Marisa growls) If you know what’s good for you, keep your damn mouth shut or there WILL be hell to pay. (End of flashback)
Kelly: Rebecca, are you okay?
Rebecca: Um, yeah. So…these are your friends?
Kelly: Yeah, that’s Tracey and over there is Marisa. She and Marcus have been the best of friends for years.
Rebecca: You don’t say.
Kelly: They act more like brother and sister. (Sighs) But it seems things have changed and it’s making me fearful. It’s just that…lately Marcus has been spending a lot of time with Marisa. More so than usual! I know she’s been through a lot with losing her father and her boyfriend cheating on her…But still.
Rebecca: I would watch her if I were you.
Kelly: Huh?
Rebecca: She might see Marcus as something more than a brother. And judging by the way you talk about him, he must be someone with a kind nature. For all we know, he could be at her house knocking boots.
Kelly: He wouldn’t!
Rebecca: Take it from someone who’s been down this road before.
Kelly: Hold on! You were screwing around with a teacher and ultimately got him fired from his job. How could you possibly know what I’m going through?
Rebecca: Well after we were found out, it wasn’t long before he started to cheat on me with another. I learned from my past mistake. But you must take care of this problem. Lay down the law and you tell Marcus that if he wants to keep being with you, he has to cut off all contact with Marisa.
Kelly: I can’t do that! The two of them have been best friends for years and years.
Rebecca: I understand. Why else do you think that he doesn’t want you there with them? It’s because they want to be alone, so they can be romantic and whatnot. Trust me! Either she goes, or you go. (End of flashback)
Kelly: What do I do now? (A little later at Marisa’s house)
Reporter: And in other news, pop singer Erika has been released from jail, but placed back into rehab. Meanwhile her trials for the destruction of two cars and the DUI charges will be scheduled sometime after the holiday season.
Marisa: If they call me for jury duty on this one, I’m fleeing the country. (Doorbell rings) I’ll get it. (Opens the door) Tracey?
Tracey: We need to talk!
Marisa: I don’t like your tone. I can tell this is going to lead to something bad.
Tracey: Marisa…I did a little research today. (Pulls out pieces of paper) Does this look familiar to you?
Marisa: Let’s see…Oh Jesus! Tracey, I didn’t mean for you to read this.
Tracey: Well, I did. You posted this just the other day, right after we got back together. Not only that, you wrote a very embarrassing story. Is this your way of making me feel bad? Because it’s working!
Marisa: I’m sorry Tracey. It’s just that I wrote that when I was really mad…and I guess I said more than I intended. I’m sorry if I hurt you. (Silence) Tracey…
Tracey: I’m going to go for a ride…by myself.
Marisa: Oh. I understand. (He leaves the house) Damn it! (Tears up)
Laura: Hey Marisa, can I borrow your…Oh…Gotta go! (At Brock’s house)
Lola: Hi Myron. Come on in.
Myron: Hi Lola. I was wondering if Brock would like to come with me and Jenina to pick out some flowers for the funeral.
Lola: I’m sorry Myron, but Brock is out and I have no idea when he’s going to be back. He and Flint went out for some male bonding a couple of days ago and they haven’t given me any details or told me where they are!
Myron: They’ll be back on the first of the month, right?
Lola: For Brock’s sake, I hope so. (Phone rings)
Yolanda: Hello.
Flint: Hi Yolanda, it’s your father. Is your mother there right now?
Yolanda: She’s here. Do you want me to get her?
Flint: No, no, no!
Salvadore: You’re on the phone, again? Give someone else a chance to talk on the phone!
Yolanda: Get off me, idiot! I’m talking to Dad!
Lola: Your father’s on the phone?
Flint: Oh shit! (She grabs the phone)
Lola: Flint, where are you? Never mind that, where’s my son? Where’s Brock?
Flint: Don’t worry honey! Brock is with me and we’re just away…in the next town. You know, more male bonding time. Lola, could I talk to Forrest?
Lola: Forrest?
Flint: Just do it, woman!
Lola: Pardon me?
Flint: I mean, there’s something I would like to speak to him about, man-to-man!
Lola: Forrest, your father would like a word with you.
Forrest: Tell him I’m busy!
Lola: GET OVER HERE AND TALK TO YOUR FATHER!
Forrest: What does he want?
Lola: I don’t know. He just wants to speak to you. (He grabs the phone)
Forrest: Whatever it is Dad, I didn’t do it!
Flint: You’re not in trouble Forrest. I need your help! I need you to go to your mother’s stash. She keeps it…
Forrest: Inside the family bible that's hidden in the panty drawer. Got it!
Flint: Wait, how do you know? Eh, never mind! Just get it! I need you to take about $500 and take it to the police station next to the Dunkin' Donuts.
Forrest: Pardon me? You mean you’re in…
Flint: DON’T SAY IT! I don’t want your mother or your other siblings to know. Brock and I are in a little bit of trouble with the law and we need your help. Just get the money without anyone knowing and get down here, now.
Forrest: Okay, I think I have some time. Mom is talking to Myron at the door. (Hangs up) The bible! The bible! (Enters the master bedroom) Bible! (Opens a drawer) Bible! Ah-ha! Here it is! (The door opens)
Lola: What do you think you’re doing?
Forrest: I…got a little…curious?
Lola: Well Forrest, you know the old saying, “Curiosity grounded the little boy.”
Forrest: That’s not an old saying.
Lola: Nope, it’s my saying. (Grabs the book) Give me that and go to your room! (He walks away) Now I need a new hiding place for the stash. (Back at the police station)
Elita: And this is where we keep the prisoners. I’ll wait until Cameron or Joel to show you around in here. (A door opens) Huh?
Cameron: Alright, back to your cell.
Ash: (Gasp) Brock!
Brock: Huh? Ash!
Flint: HELP US! (They go in another room)
Ash: What the hell is going on here? Why do the police have Brock?
Joel: More underage drinking.
Ash: Brock is my best friend in the world. He would never do such a thing. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised considering his girlfriend just died! BUT HE COULDN’T HAVE DONE IT!
Joel: Hmm…Okay hot-shot! I want you and Lunick to go with Aria to investigate things at the bar. Try and talk to the bartender.
Aria: As you wish, sir. (In Tracey’s car)
Tracey: (Sighs) Marisa… (Presses play on CD player)

Marcus: Back to the scene of the crime?
Tracey: What do you mean?
Marcus: This is the same park I saw you and Daisy tongue-kissing, is it not?
Tracey: Huh? I guess you can say that. I have a lot on my mind right now. I’m a little paranoid and I’m not sure about several things.
Marcus: Things not going well with you and Marisa?
Tracey: You can say that again. Her stories online, she bashes me six-feet under and then some.
Marcus: Her stories? Is that what’s bugging you? My God, Tracey! You cannot be that shallow! (He pulls out a paper) Huh? (Laughs) Oh my God…I mean, don’t take it too hard. I mean, she probably wrote this story when she hated your guts. Plus, she’s been known to write things about her own life.
Tracey: She’s making me out to be a bad guy.
Marcus: You are the bad guy! Marisa has been nothing but faithful to you for as long as she’s known you. She goes away to visit some relatives and you tongue-kiss your ex behind her back. Then you do the ultimate low and dump Marisa and go back out with Daisy. And now you’re mad at Marisa for writing a few stories about you! Her writing a few embarrassing stories about you is nothing compared to the pain she had to endure because of you.
Tracey: I guess you have a good point. (Sighs) I am the biggest scumbag of the universe for what I did to her.
Marcus: Yes you are.
Tracey: Hey, you’re supposed to say something comforting.
Marcus: Not in this case! I don’t normally take sides, but I’m completely on her side with this one.
Tracey: What are you doing here anyways?
Marcus: I was walking over to see Kelly. I want to get to the bottom of things.
Tracey: I’m in the dark on that issue. What’s going on between the two of you?
Marcus: Kelly thinks that there’s something going on between me and Marisa. And now she wants me to cut off all communication with Marisa. You know as well as I do that I can’t do that. And you know that we are only friends.
Tracey: Of course. I wouldn’t have gotten jealous or suspicious of the two of you.
Marcus: Exactly. I just wish Kelly understood that. (Tracey takes a picture from his wallet)
Tracey: We’ve been through a lot, haven’t we?
Marcus: You and Marisa? Of course! (He tears up) Huh? Tracey…
Tracey: I love her Marcus. I really do. I’m sorry for hurting her. But words alone can’t really sum up how truly sorry I am.
Marcus: Tracey… (Puts his hand on Tracey’s shoulder) We all make mistakes with relationships. I could have done a lot more to keep Kelly around. But you still have a chance to make things right.
Tracey: True. It’s just that I’m afraid I screwed things up again. It’s only been three days and we’ve already had three fights. With all of the drama she’s faced this year, she probably wants me out of her life.
Marcus: (Sighs) Talk to her. Well, I know what I have to do now. I have to go see my girlfriend.
Tracey: I’ll call you later. (Nearby in a police car)
Ash: Like he’s trying to test me! Who does that guy think he is?
Lunick: Cool it Ash. Joel is giving us a shot. Do you want to blow it?
Ash: Come on. Now that we’re alone without Joel, we can really say what we feel about him.
Aria: Enough boys. Joel is a very caring man and is very dedicated to his work.
Ash: Oh come on, Aria. The man has this complex where he thinks he's better than everyone around him.
Aria: If that’s what he was, I wouldn’t serve under him. My job is to protect the city and have Joel’s back at all times. Sure he wants to get promoted. But he works his butt off to get where he is. Not only that, he’s very loyal to his crew and to the citizens of this town. And that’s what makes me respect him. You boys should give him that respect as well.
Lunick: What’s going on over there?
Aria: I don’t know. (Stops the car)
Lunick: Think it’s a murder?
Ash: Could be.
Aria: Come on boys. (They get out of the car) Spenser, what’s going on?
Spenser: I came here to question the people working at the bar for the Harrison case when I saw the ambulance. A person had a seizure and passed out. It could be alcohol poisoning. It’s the second one in a week. This is very suspicious, Aria.
Aria: I’ll speak to the bartender. Boys, stay with Spenser until I’m done talking to the workers here.
Spenser: Hi boys. Joel told me that he has a few new recruits up and around. I’m the investigator for these parts. I’m sorry I didn’t catch your names.
Lunick: Oh, my name is Lunick.
Ash: And I’m Ash. (Tummy growling) Um, okay. Nature is calling. I’ve got to go to the bathroom.
Spenser: Go ahead Ash. There’s a bathroom inside. (A few minutes later in the bathroom)
Ash: (Sighs) Relief at last. (Water running) I hope they can clear Brock’s name. I know he’s not a drinker. The problem is to try and convince everyone else he isn’t. (Drops his keys) Whoops! Got it! (Hits his head on the sink and a package falls out) What the hell is this? (Picks it up) Huh? (Knock on the door)
Spenser: Ash, you still in there?
Ash: Yeah. I’ll be out in a second. (He walks out of the room) Spenser, I found this underneath the…
Spenser: Come on Ash. We have to go back to the station. Joel has an assignment for you.
Ash: Yeah but…
Spenser: You can tell me in the car. We have to get back. We don’t want Joel’s head to spin around. (A little later at Kelly’s house)
Kelly: Marcus?
Marcus: We need to talk.
Kelly: Yeah.
Marcus: Kelly, why are you being so difficult. What’s going on?
Kelly: I suppose you’ve made up your mind.
Marcus: …I will still remain good friends with Marisa and that is never going to change. (She growls) Why are you so hell-bent on getting me to stop being friends with Marisa?
Kelly: You just don’t understand. You see, before dating you I dated all of these other guys who cheated on me with other girls. Do you have any idea how hurtful that is? And all of them were “close” friends with the girls that they cheated on me with, if you get my meaning!
Marcus: Yeah, but you never had a problem with little buddy before this.
Kelly: Yeah, well that was then and this is now.
Marcus: Kelly, you have to trust me on this one. I would never in a million years cheat on you. And I sure as hell would never cheat on you with my best friend. Why don’t you believe me?
Kelly: The past few weeks, you have single-handedly shunned me from any and every activity you’ve done with Marisa. And now, I’m at the point in my life where I can’t even trust you anymore. I’m going to ask you a final time for your answer.
Marcus: Alright, that does it! Woman, if you can’t trust me, then there’s no way in hell this relationship is going to work! I came here with high expectations for us to work things out, but apparently I was wrong. Well let me tell you, I will find someone who will trust me and like my friends and not be suspicious about them. Until that day comes, I shall remain single! (He walks out the door) Goodbye Kelly!
Kelly: Jerk! (She slams the door shut)
Marcus: I did it. I can’t believe I did it. (Sobbing) BUT WHY DOES IT HURT SO MUCH?! (A little later at Marisa’s house)
Reporter: And in other entertainment news, pop singer, Erika has been sent back into rehab. But preliminary reports have come in saying that the singer could be out of the facilities as early as next week.
Marisa: If that happens, the doctors need to be shoved into rehab as well. (Phone rings) Hello.
Tracey: Hi Marisa… (She hangs up)
Marisa: I don’t want any more of this. (Pulls the phone from the wall)
Laura: What the hell?
Marisa: I’ve had it up to here with the damn phone. I don’t want this crap plugged in until we get caller I.D. (She walks to her room and slams the door)
Laura: She’s lost her mind.
Tracey: I’ll try again. (Beeping)
Operator: The person you’re trying to reach is no longer…
Tracey: Hell! I better call Marcus to know what’s bugging Marisa. (At Marcus's house)
Usher: (Singing)

Marcus: (Machine) You have reached the voicemail of Marcus. Please leave a message after the beep. (Hangs up)
Tracey: No answer from him either! (Sighs) Everybody is going crazy! (Back at the police station)
Ash: I can’t believe that Joel! (A package falls out of Ash’s pocket)
Lunick: Ash, you dropped something!
Ash: Oh yeah, the package I found at the bar.
Lunick: Let’s open it.
Ash: Hey, wait a second. We can’t just do that. This is someone else’s property and that would be wrong and… (Opens it) What the fuck is this?
Lunick: These look like pills you get from the doctors…Prescription Valium? We’ve got to take this to Joel right away. (A few minutes later)
Joel: You boys did the right thing by coming to me with this. Seeing as the pills are in a case for…Prescription Valium, who knows what these really are. I’ll get a test to confirm what these really are. (The door opens) Yes Elita?
Elita: Joel, the toxicology report came back on the young Harrison boy.
Joel: What’s the word?
Elita: There was no alcohol in his system. But there were however several kinds of drugs in his system; PCP, Oxycotin…the list goes on.
Joel: (Gasp) Hmm…I think I’ve got an idea of what’s going on. Elita, I need a doctor to do a toxicology report on the latest victim at the bar scene right away.
Elita: Right, sir.
Joel: Boys, come with me. I’m going to talk to the bartender, myself. He may have lied to Aria and Spenser, but he’s never met me. (At the diner)
Theresa: Only a couple of more days until the New Years Eve karaoke night. I’m planning on calling out sick.
Misty: Come on Theresa. It can’t be all that bad.
Theresa: Do you know what happened to the last place that did a karaoke night?
Winona: Somebody sang the Rick Astley song and it ended up with the place being torched down.
Misty: Look, I invited some of my friends to this thing so it can’t be all that bad.
Winona: I don’t know Misty. Every time you put most of your friends in a room together, things start to get a little chaotic.
Misty: Not all of them are coming. Just a select few!
Theresa: Her friends can’t be all that bad. I’ve met a few of them before and they seem pretty nice.
Misty: You’ve only met Marisa, Ash, and Brock. There’s a whole other dark side to my friend line-up.
Winona: You’ve never met Harley before! (A little later in the jail cell)
Flint: Oh man. Where the hell is Forrest?
Brock: I hope Mom didn’t catch him.
Flint: If that happens we will never hear the end of it. I can guarantee you!
Brock: Even though I lost my girlfriend, got sent to the emergency room, threw up in front of a pretty girl, and got arrested…Never mind, I thought there was a bright side to all of this.
Flint: Think of it this way. One day, you’ll look back on all of this and laugh. (Brock glares at him) I didn’t say today. (Jail cell opens) Huh? Did we make bail?
Joel: No bail. You two are free to go. (Gasp) Toxicology report came back. No alcohol was found in Brock’s system. However, there were several drugs found in his system, through no fault of your own. The bartender slipped those drugs into your drink. He confessed to the crime and admitted to doing that to people who piss him off while on duty. Crazy people in this town, you have to admit! I apologize for the mistake.
Brock: Thank you.
Joel: Don’t thank me. Thank that young rookie of ours, Ash. He accidentally came upon a big clue that blew this case wide open.
Ash: Yo!
Brock: Ash, I owe you my life! (He hugs him)
Ash: Whoa! This ain’t Brokeback Mountain!
Brock: You got me out of jail and…I’m just full of emotion right now.
Ash: Okay Brock. I’m glad you’re innocent!
Flint: Come on boy. We have to get home before your mother kills us.
Brock: Right! Thanks again Ash!
Joel: My boy, I don’t know how you do it. Maybe being a policeman is your true calling in life.
Ash: You really think so?
Joel: I had my serious doubts about you, but now I’m sure you’ll make a great cop. But before you do that, you do have to go through the training process. Are you up for the challenge?
Ash: Yes! (That night at Brock’s house)
Lola: Where the hell have you two been?
Flint: I got you something.
Lola: Daffodils! My favorites…I’m still angry at you for leaving.
Flint: Oh, we just had to get away from it all. You know…for the boy’s sake. He’s been through hell and back.
Lola: Oh Brock, are you feeling okay.
Brock: (Sighs) Huh? I’m a little better… (Forrest walks up)
Forrest: You guys are back from the big house?
Lola: Huh?
Flint: What Forrest meant to say was that we were at the big Motel Six in the next town.
Lola: Okay. Well come on boys. Dinner is on the table. (She walks out of the room)
Flint: Thanks for almost blowing our cover, you big dummy!
Brock: And where the hell were you with our bail?
Forrest: Locked in my room for snooping around Mom’s panty drawer. Do you want me to go into anymore detail?
Narrator: Yes, Brock and Flint are back from their hellish time in the big house. Meanwhile, Ash and Lunick went through a couple of days of hell at the police academy and Joel was not making things any easier. And then of course, Marisa was still ignoring Tracey, and Marcus has spent the last few days in his room crying and listening to sad Usher songs. We’re now going to skip ahead to New Years Eve at the diner.

Marisa: This is just the best. (Marcus sighs) Come on Marcus. This kind of crap always cheers you up.
Marcus: …My soul aches.

Theresa: Oh man, that Harley is just the life of the party.
Misty: Is that what you call it?
Winona: Does it freak anybody out that Jose and Paco are going to go up and sing What I Like About You?
Misty: They’re singing what? (Out in the front)
Lunick: You’re right. Joel is a horse's ass.
Ash: Told you. Come on. Let’s grab a seat.
Marisa: Hey Ash.
Ash: Marisa, you’re looking well.
Marisa: You’re here just in time to watch these guys do karaoke.
Ash: At least Harley kept his shirt on and at least it isn’t a show tune.
Marisa: Who’s your friend?
Ash: This is Lunick. He’s my new friend down at the police academy. Lunick, this is Marisa and Marcus. So where are Tracey and Kelly? (Marcus starts sobbing)
Marisa: It looks like we won't be seeing Kelly for a long time. And I’m not speaking to that jerk!
Ash: What’d he do now?
Marisa: It’s more like he said something stupid and I just don’t feel like talking to him.
Ash: Whatever you say.
Marisa: Where’s Brock?
Ash: Working on his Eulogy for Jasmine’s funeral tomorrow. (Scattered applause)
Harley: Thank you, Dear Abby Diner! You’re a terrific audience!
Marisa: Can’t get any better than that!
Jose and Paco: (Singing off-key)

Ash: He must be bummed about Kelly. (He starts sobbing)
Marisa: Don’t say the “K” word in front of him. Poor Marcus! (The door opens) Huh?
Ash: Hey Tracey!
Tracey: Hi everyone. (He sits down) Come on Marisa. You can’t give me the silent treatment forever. (She scoffs) Look, I’m sorry for what I said.
Marisa: You’re only realizing this now?
Tracey: You have every right to be mad at me and I had no right to scold you for writing what was on your mind. Marisa… (Sighs) I guess you don’t want to speak to me… (He walks away)
Lunick: Tension.
Ash: You haven’t seen anything yet! Marisa, I’m surprised you didn’t throw him out the window. Don’t tell me you’re getting soft!
Marisa: Sometimes, silence is golden.
Ash: Oh God, what the hell is he doing? (Soft music comes on)
Marisa: Huh? (Gasp)

Winona: Come on you guys. Ash just came in and he ordered a bunch of cheeseburgers.
Misty: Oh yes. He does love to eat. (Back in the audience)
Marisa: Oh…my God! (Tears up)
Ash: Are you crying? Oh my God, you’re crying! (She punches him)
Marisa: That’s…our song!
Ash: You guys have a song? (Song ends and everybody claps)
Tracey: Thank you. (He walks over) Marisa…
Marisa: (Firmly) Tracey…is this your attempt at kissing ass with me? Is this your method for trying to say that you’re sorry?
Tracey: Look, I’m sorry for snapping at you the other day. I was stupid, I wasn’t thinking… (She hugs him and they start making out)
Ash: Okay, I guess they’re back together!
Lunick: Man, I need a girl. I forgot what it feels like to kiss a girl. (Misty and Theresa walk up)
Misty: We got your order, Ash.
Ash: Aw, thanks Mist!
Misty: And…whoa!
Theresa: Hey! Get some!
Misty: Anything we can get you, Marisa? Food, drinks, or how about an oxygen mask?
Marisa: (Panting) Chili cheese fries… (Romantically) For us to share! Tracey, that was so sweet what you did.
Tracey: You think so?
Marisa: I sure do. Just don’t ever sing it again. You are no Stevie Wonder!
Tracey: Yeah, I’m not much of a singer.
Marisa: But I should put this in my next story. Ha! I’m kidding! (Music starts) Who’s singing now?
Marcus: (Singing)

Ash: He’s starting to sob!
Marisa: We’re on it. (Seconds before midnight)
Abigail: Okay everybody, it’s almost midnight! Theresa, turn on Dick Clark!
Theresa: The Dick is on! (Television turns on)
Abigail: The ball is dropping everybody!
Theresa: Too bad this was taped two hours ago.
All: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…HAPPY NEW YEAR! (They all cheer and sing)
Tracey: Happy New Years Marisa.
Marisa: Let’s hope this year will be better for us. (They kiss)
Ash: Same for us.
Misty: Oh Ash! (They kiss)
Lunick: I’ll be in the car if anyone needs me.
Marcus: …Happy New Years…to anyone who cares! (The next morning at a cemetery)
Brock: Jasmine was truly the sweetest girl during her time on this earth. I should know. In the year that I was with her, she was able to change me into a completely different person. I used to be…well sort of a boob before I met her. But with her, I changed and it was because of her patience and dedication, I have become a changed man. Jasmine my darling, there will never be another girl like you. I will miss you. (Clapping)
