~New Character Introduced~
Sarah
Original Date of Post: 12/09/2007
Narrator: Back in the day, in order to go to the Prom, you would either have to be a senior or invited by a senior. But that was then and this is now! In the present day, just about everybody goes to that dance. It was about one week until the senior prom and everybody is trying to find a date to the dance. But once again, Brock is the one who is the most determined, by hitting up his friends in the hallway.
Brock: So, which one of my friends would like to do old Brock a favor?
Misty: I know where you’re going with this. Sorry Brock, I’ve already got a date for Prom.
Brock: What the hell?
Misty: Sorry, Ash and I are going…AS FRIENDS!
Brock: Yeah, whatever. How about you Sakura?
Sakura: Got a date too! I’m going with Gary this time. (Brock looks at Marisa)
Marisa: Huh? Look elsewhere pervert! I’m not interested!
Brock: Like I’d ask you!
Marisa: Then why did you look my way? (Brock groans and walks away)
Sakura: You know you don’t have a date. Why not give Brock a chance and take him to the Prom?
Marisa: I have my reasons! (She stares at Tracey)
Sakura: Whatever! (Sakura and Misty walk away)
Marisa: (Sighs) I have to tell him.
Marcus: I knew it! (Marisa screams) You are completely infatuated!
Marisa: Keep your voice down! I don’t want people to know!
Marcus: Know what? That you have that human emotion that you’ve kept shut up for your whole life? (Marisa growls) Come on now! What are you waiting for? Ask him out already! You don’t want to lose your chance, do you? (Marisa groans) Come on, you know I’m right. That’s why I’m not wasting any time asking the person I want to the dance.
Marisa: You’re not going to try again with Lovrina, are you?
Marcus: Hell no! I was actually thinking about asking Misty.
Marisa: Hate to disappoint you but Misty is already going with Ash. And if she wasn’t going with Ash, she was going to give Brock a pity date.
Marcus: Oh, is that so? (Laughing)
Marisa: Are you okay?
Marcus: Never better! I’m sure I’ll get a date and won’t end up alone and pitiful like Brock.
Marisa: Right! I’m going to head off to class.
Marcus: Oh, yeah! I’ll see you later little buddy! (Sighs)
Marisa: Maybe he is right. I shouldn’t be scared of what he might say. Huh? What in the world is Brawly doing near Misty’s locker? (Brawly slips a note in the locker) Boy, I didn’t realize how popular Misty was.
Gary: Hey babe! (Puts his arm around her shoulder)
Marisa: A bit of advice Oak! If you are going to go out with one of my friends, I don’t think it would be a wise idea to flirt around with me.
Gary: Don’t tell me you’re jealous! I’m just going out with Sakura for one dance. You know you’ll always be my boo!
Marisa: Get away from me! (Nearby)
Winona: What the hell? Hey Wallace, why did you send me all of these notes? I already said we were going to Prom together.
Wallace: I never sent you any kind of note.
Winona: You didn't? I better take a closer look. (Reads a note) Oh no! I was afraid of this. All of these notes are from that one freshman, Jackson.
Wallace: Who is he?
Winona: I really don’t know him too well. I just remember that early last semester I helped him out of a locker after someone threw him in there. Now, he wants me to go to the Prom with him.
Wallace: Huh? Is he a weird looking kid with short brown hair?
Winona: Yeah. How’d you know?
Wallace: I could have sworn he’s been watching us for the last couple of months.
Winona: That’s it, I have to set him straight. (At lunch outside the cafeteria)
Marcus: I’ll meet you inside.
Todd: I’ll hold you to it! (Todd walks away)
Marcus: Huh? Did you ask him yet?
Marisa: No, not yet.
Marcus: Oh for the love of Christ, just ask him to the dance and get it over with. What is it with you girls and asking out boys? You had a perfect opportunity during first period! Why the hell didn’t you go through with it?
Marisa: You don’t understand! It’s just not that simple.
Marcus: What can be any simpler than asking out a guy? All you have to do is go up and ask him to the dance. The worst thing he can say is no!
Marisa: Fine, I’ll get it over with! (They open the doors) Great, I get fired up for nothing. I don’t see him anywhere in here.
Marcus: Don’t worry! I’ll find him. (In the hallway)
Jackson: Good day Winona! Did you by any chance get any of my notes?
Winona: How could I not? You only sent me about 50 of these! But I am glad that you’re here Jackson because we need to talk. Jackson, we are only acquaintances. I do have a…
Jackson: You have no idea what I’ve been through. I have been tortured and picked on and teased, until the day you came to my rescue. That meant a whole lot to me, more than you can imagine. And it would mean so much to me if you would give me the pleasure of taking you to Prom.
Winona: What?
Jackson: Please Miss Winona, don’t turn down this offer.
Winona: Jackson, I don’t think that you understand what I’m trying to say here.
Jackson: Its okay darling, you don’t have to answer right now. Just let it all sink in and give me your answer later. (He leaves)
Winona: (Sighs) What the hell did I just get into? (Nearby)
Marcus: Easier said than done. I’ve been wandering around for over five minutes and I still can’t find lover boy! (Tracey walks out of the library) There he is!
Daisy: Tracey!
Tracey: Hey Daisy! (Nearby)
Marcus: What does Daisy want? Hmm, interesting! (Thinking) I better investigate for myself.
Daisy: I was actually hoping that you would go to the Prom with me.
Tracey: Huh? Why me Daisy? I’m sure there are plenty of other guys in your class that you want to go with.
Daisy: Oh, I’m sick of all of those guys. I’ve already dated most of them and none of them really tickle my fancy. But I just have to repay the favor after you helped me in Life Science all semester.
Tracey: Sure, I’d love to go with you! (Nearby)
Marcus: Oh crap! I knew something like this would have happened if she didn’t act fast. I can’t believe this! (In the cafeteria)
Ash: Oh come on Brock, there’s got to be at least one girl in this entire school that will go out with you.
Brock: Easy for you to say, you have a date!
Ash: Brock, you know it’s not like that. Misty and I have been going to the dances together as friends since last year. (Misty walks up)
Misty: Um Ash, I already agreed to go to the dance, so I don’t see the reason why you put a note in my locker.
Ash: Note? I didn’t put a note in your locker!
Misty: What? But if you didn’t, then who did? Someone wrote me a note asking me to the dance.
Ash: So go with that person, I don’t mind.
Misty: What? No! I mean, I already made a promise and I intend to keep it so I’m going to go to the dance with you Ash.
Ash: Whatever floats your boat!
Sakura: Hey Marisa, you’re being awfully quiet today. Anything bothering you?
Marisa: Huh? Nothing! God, can’t I have a moment of silence every once and a while or does that bug you guys?
Sakura: Hey relax, I didn’t mean to offend. (Tracey walks up)
Tracey: Sorry I’m late you guys, but I ran into someone on my way over.
Marisa: Oh Tracey, I wanted to ask you a question. Huh? (She sees Marcus calling her across the room) Oh hold on a second. (She gets up from the table) Okay Marcus, this better be important because I was just about to ask him to the dance.
Marcus: Sweetie, Tracey is going to the Prom with Daisy.
Marisa: You’ve got to be kidding me!
Marcus: No lie! I saw the two of them talking a couple of minutes ago and Daisy asked him to the dance and he accepted.
Marisa: What? (Puts her hand over her face)
Marcus: Hey don’t be too hard on yourself bud! I’ll tell you what, how would you like for me to be your date for the dance?
Marisa: Oh come on Marcus, we both know you can get a date who isn’t me.
Marcus: You do have a point, I’m not Brock and girls aren’t repulsed by me! But I want to go with you as friends. So how about it?
Marisa: I guess that can work. No sense in both of us going to the dance depressed and alone. But if you call me Lovrina during the dance, I will kill you.
Marcus: Fair enough. (Tracey walks up to them)
Tracey: Hey Marisa, what was it that you wanted to ask me?
Marisa: Oh it isn’t that important! You know, I’m getting kind of light-headed and so I’m going to go outside to get a breath of fresh air. (At another table)
Lanette: Winnie, what’s wrong with you today? You look like you ate some bad Wendy’s chili!
Winona: I feel horrible! It’s that one freshmen, Vincent Jackson. He’s been sending me love notes and begging me to take him to the Prom. And every time I try to say no, he pulls out the pity card. He says that I stood up to these bullies that were picking on him earlier this year. You know I can’t help but stand up for the little guy.
Lanette: That’s always your problem my dear.
Winona: Yeah but after I did that, he started stalking me. I just can’t take the guy anymore. (She sees him blow a kiss to her)
Daisy: Sounds like you’ve been rocking the cradle Winona.
Lanette: What do you want Waterflower? Besides, don’t talk about rocking the cradle. I heard through the grapevine that you are taking Tracey Sketchit to the Prom. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t he a sophomore?
Daisy: That just happened! How did you find out?
Lanette: I was walking in the hallway and overheard you asking Tracey.
Daisy: And so what if I’m going with him? One of the cutest guys to come into this school and I can’t be a little friendly, just because he’s two years younger? You know, I did have a chance with a really cute guy last year, but SOMEBODY got on his good side before me.
Winona: Not this again! I was the only one who didn’t stalk Wallace on his first day here like some people.
Lanette: Oh come on! I couldn’t resist! The boy has got a nice ass!
Winona: Thank God Wallace isn’t here to hear this. Anyways, I’m at my wits end on this one. I just can’t stand to break this guy’s heart.
Lanette: Want me to break this guy’s heart for you? I can do it and in a jiffy!
Winona: No, no, no! I think I can try handling this all on my own.
Daisy: Well you better do something. Nothing worse than having two boys fighting over one of you. Although, I’ve had it happen to me and it was rather flattering.
Lanette: How do you sleep at night?
Daisy: Alright smarty pants, who are you taking to the dance?
Lanette: Bill is taking me!
Winona: But you hate Bill!
Lanette: That may be true, but I had him sign a five-page contract restricting him from touching and kissing. But he’s allowed to have a few rights.
Daisy: What, the right to remain silent? (After school at the pool)
Brawly: Hey Misty! You got a second?
Misty: Long time, no see. How have you been Brawly?
Brawly: Oh, I’ve been around. Just doing my usual thing around here! I just haven’t seen too much of you lately.
Misty: I’ve just been a little busy. But I always try to get a few laps in!
Brawly: Misty, I was wondering if you got my note.
Misty: You mean you sent me that note? I was wondering who sent me the note since it doesn’t have a name on it.
Brawly: Holy crap! How embarrassing! I’m sorry I forgot to put my name on it.
Misty: Don’t worry about it.
Brawly: So, what’s your answer? Do you want to go to Prom with me?
Misty: Oh, I’d love to go with you Brawly. Except, I already have a date for the night. I hope you’re not disappointed.
Brawly: Not at all. I’m happy that you have a date for the dance. Lord knows the night would suck if you don’t have someone with you. Don’t worry about me. I’m sure I’ll find a date by the end of the week. Just out of curiosity, who are you going with?
Misty: One of my friends, I think you might know him. His name is Ash Ketchum.
Brawly: Oh, I know who he is. I usually see you guys together quite a bit. Very cute! (Misty blushes)
Misty: We’re just friends.
Brawly: A lot of good relationships start out that way. (In another room in the gym)
Marisa: (Punching the punching bag) Stupid…Blonde…whore! I…Hate…Men! (Winona walks inside) Lying, cheating, deceiving, sack of crap!
Winona: Whoa, maybe I came in at a bad time.
Marisa: Oh Winona, I was just doing the punching bag. Uh, you didn’t hear any of my grumblings did you?
Winona: Well I walked in when you were calling somebody a sack of crap. I take it you’re having some sort of man problem.
Marisa: I guess you can say that. Let’s just say something really upset me today. Usually if someone pisses me off, I like to work it out on the punching bag. Or if I don’t have anything to punch, I just chew them out verbally.
Winona: That sounds like a good idea.
Marisa: Something wrong?
Winona: Sort of. I kind of have a little situation involving a stalker. This freshman wants to take me to the Prom, but you know that I’m going with Wallace. But this guy just won’t leave me alone.
Marisa: Winona, I know you don’t like to hurt anyone’s feelings. But sometimes, you’ve just got to be more assertive. Tell this boy no means no! (About an hour later)
Winona: That was a great work out.
Marisa: You said it!
Winona: Say Marisa, if you’re looking for a date to Prom, I could always help you with finding a date.
Marisa: Actually, I’m going with one of my friends. But thanks for the offer. Besides, I know another one of my friends who could use some help finding a date.
Brock: Ladies, it’s your lucky day. Which one of you wonderful girls want to take me to the Prom? (Girls screaming) Come on ladies, there’s plenty of Brock to go around. That’s weird I guess they must have gone to buy their tickets.
Marisa: On second thought, don’t tempt the fates. (Outside in the parking lot)
Jackson: Winona! (She jumps)
Winona: Huh? Oh Jackson, we need to talk.
Jackson: So? Did you let it all sink in? Will you still be my Prom date?
Winona: I never agreed to be your date Jackson. I’m sorry, but I have to decline.
Jackson: Huh?
Winona: I already have a date for the night and that is my boyfriend Wallace. I’m sorry if I disappointed you. I’m sure you’ll find a date by the day of the dance.
Jackson: Please Winona! There’s no one else I want to go with! There’s no one else I want to be with! Please, please be my date! (He hugs her)
Winona: Stop it Jackson, you’re starting to scare me! I’m sorry Jackson, but I am not interested in you the way you are to me. And furthermore, I would appreciate it if you would stop stalking my every move, sending me love notes, or anything like that.
Narrator: It was then that Jackson got worse. All through the week, Winona was given all kinds of gifts. Jackson would follow Winona to her house and give her things like chocolates and roses. Jackson even hired singers to sing by her window. By the end of the week, Winona was too scared to go home. Who could blame her? Well her knight in shining armor is here to protect her.
Lanette: Unbelievable! (Sighs)
Winona: I want to thank you for letting me crash here.
Lanette: It’s really no problem! Just remember that this is only temporary.
Winona: Thanks Lanette!
Lanette: (Sighs) I told you days ago to nip this thing in the bud. But no, you had to go and take pity on the boy.
Winona: I know you’re right. It’s this damn personality I have! I just can’t help but have pity on him.
Lanette: That’s what people love and hate about you. (Rustling sound)
Winona: What was that?
Lanette: It’s just the wind!
Winona: I’m not taking any chances. (Gets up) Check through the window and see if someone is out there!
Lanette: Again, it’s just the wind! You are getting paranoid over nothing! (Doorbell rings) Wonder who that could be? (Winona runs into another room)
Jackson: (Banging) WINONA! Are you in there?!
Lanette: I’ll take care of this! Where the hell is my baseball bat? (Opens the door) Who are you and what do you want?
Jackson: Hi, is Winona there?
Lanette: Look little boy! Winona isn’t here and I advise you to stay the hell away from her. You mess with her and you mess with me. Got it? (Slams the door) And there you have it, problem solved.
Winona: (Whispering) Are you sure you weren’t too rough on him? (Jackson sobbing)
Jackson: Please Winona! I know you’re in there! Please! (Shoves notes underneath the door)
Lanette: (Gasp) This is starting to creep me out! (The next day)
Winona: Do you think we should have called the police?
Lanette: I’ve got things under control Winnie.
Winona: Is that why you haven’t let go of your baseball bat since last night?
Lanette: Eh! Now you should know by now that I wouldn’t hesitate cracking open a skull if they deserve it. (The door knocks)
Winona: Oh God, don’t let it be him!
Lanette: I’ll handle this! WHO IS IT? WHAT DO YOU WANT?!
Bill: It’s Bill!
Lanette: Bill? You’re not even supposed to be here until 6:00pm! How do I know it’s really you and not an impostor?
Winona: Lanette! I think it’s really Bill! Bring him in! (The door opens)
Lanette: Get in here boy!
Bill: Hey, you’re not going to strip me naked and handcuff me to the bed are you?
Lanette: Get your mind out of the gutter! Even though you’re going against my contract by coming here several hours early, I’m actually glad that you are here.
Bill: Why? What’s the problem?
Winona: I kind of have a stalker.
Bill: A stalker? So, do you need some sort of protection?
Lanette: Well, besides that! We also need someone to watch out for the door, while we get ready.
Bill: Ugh! Now how long is that going to last?
Lanette: If you want to make it to see your senior Prom, I suggest you shut up!
Bill: Yes ma’am! (Hours later at Marisa’s house)
Marisa: Hmm…Well, I think that’s everything. (Horn honks) Must be Marcus! (Opens the door) Whoa!
Ash: We’re here! (She closes the door)
Marisa: My goodness! How on earth could your mother afford this stretch limo, Ash?
Ash: I really don’t know how she got the money, but she says I’m going to have a big surprise when it’s my senior Prom.
Marcus: Oh yeah! Here’s your corsage little buddy. (Marisa sighs) Is there something wrong? Did I get the wrong size?
Marisa: No, it’s nothing you did.
Marcus: Oh, I see. It’s okay! He’s not even in the limo tonight. Apparently, he’s getting a ride with Daisy and all of her friends. (Marisa sighs) Oh, I said the wrong thing, didn’t I?
Marisa: It’s okay Marcus! I’m not going to let this whole situation ruin my evening. I do appreciate all that you are doing for me. (Horn honks)
Brock: Are you waiting for the second coming of Christ or what? Get in the limo!
Marisa: Are you in that much of a hurry to get your heartbroken? Keep your God-damn pants on!
Marcus: I knew you’d be alright. (Back at Lanette’s house)
Bill: Are you ladies done yet?
Lanette: SHOVE A SOCK IN IT! (Doorbell rings) GET THE DOOR BILL! (He opens the door)
Bill: Thank God, it’s only you Wallace.
Wallace: Yeah it’s me. Is Winnie okay? She seemed a little edgy last night.
Bill: The girls told me that some boy was stalking them last night, but so far nothing has happened while I was here. (The girls come down stairs) Wow, you ladies look very good. (Lanette grabs pepper spray) Uh Lanette, I promised that I wouldn’t touch you. Why are you bringing pepper spray?
Lanette: This isn’t for you, dummy! It’s in case that creepy little kid comes near Winnie again!
Wallace: You ready to get some dinner? (Later at the dance)
Brock: Ugh...Another dance and I'm once again alone. This is not fair at all.
Ash: Oh come on, you can't be the only person single to this.
Brock: Wanna bet? (Marisa sighs) What are you sighing for? You've at least got a date!
Marisa: Lay off pervert, I'm in no mood.
Marcus: Don't take it personal Brock. She's just...well it's complicated. (In another corner) So are you going to be this way all evening?
Marisa: I'm sorry Marcus. (Breathes) I promise to be in a better mood for the rest of the dance. If I bump into those two...I'll just grin and bear it.
Marcus: That's my girl!
Sakura: Hey you two! Once again, both of you are too adorable for words! (They blush)
Marisa: Stop it Sakura! We're not like that! We're like brother and sister and that's that! (Misty walks up)
Misty: Let me take a picture of you and Marcus!
Marcus: Make sure to get my good side!
Misty: (Gasps) It's Winona and Lanette!
Sakura: Oh they always look so beautiful.
Misty: Oh my God Winona, your dress is the best!
Winona: Well thank you Misty.
Marisa: Hmm, hey Winona, are you feeling okay? You just don’t seem like your spunky self right now.
Winona: Oh I’m fine! I guess it’s just the anxiety of it being the last school dance for me. I do enjoy these things. (Nervous laugh)
Lanette: Look at that, Daisy is here!
Marisa: Oh dear God.
Marcus: Oh crap! Hey Marisa, darling, how about we get some punch? Yes, punch is always good. Great seeing you guys and we will catch you later. (Whispering) Come on let’s get the hell out of here! (They leave)
Daisy: Winona, lovely dress! You finally took my advise into wearing something with baby blue in it.
Winona: (Grunts) Yes, well it’s nice seeing you Daisy. And Tracey, don’t you look handsome in your tuxedo? (Tracey blushes)
Daisy: Hands off Winnie! You do have your date to blush and giggle with.
Winona: The thought never came to my mind until you put it there.
Daisy: Ooh, I love this song! Come on Tracey, let’s dance!
Wallace: Might as well! Come my lady! (Winona giggles)
Brock: Hello fair maiden, would you give me the honor of having this dance with me?
Harley: Oh you’re sweet, but I’m spoken for.
Tucker: Find your own date Brock!
Brock: HARLEY?! (Girls giggle) Oh God, I’m never going to live this one down.
Ash: Wow Brock! You must be really loosing your touch if you can’t tell the difference between a girl and Harley.
Brawly: Well hi Ash and Misty!
Misty: Brawly? Oh, again, I hope you’re not too disappointed…
Brawly: Would you stop with the apologies? It’s quite alright Misty. Besides, I ended up getting a date. Sarah here decided to go with me.
Brock: SARAH!!! IT’S JUST NOT FAIR!
Sarah: Sorry about not going with you Brock.
Brawly: Yeah, she said that she didn’t want to go alone for fear of being hit on by some pervert. (Brock groans)
Sarah: Thank God for Brawly!
Brawly: You two have a great time now! (Winks at Misty)
Ash: What did he mean by that?
Misty: (Turns red) He meant nothing by it! Come on, let’s just continue dancing! (At the punch bowl)
Marcus: Feeling better?
Marisa: I’ll live. Huh? (Notices Jackson with a bouquet of flowers) Wait a minute! (Flashback)
Winona: This freshman wants to take me to the Prom, but you know that I’m going with Wallace. But this guy just won’t leave me alone. (End of flashback)
Marisa: The stalker? (Gasps) Excuse me Marcus! (She starts running)
Marcus: Huh? I guess the punch just went right through her.
Marisa: Winona, Winona!
Winona: Marisa, what’s the matter?
Marisa: (Gasping) It’s that guy!
Lanette: THE STALKER! Don’t you worry Winnie I’ve got my pepper spray right here. Now you just tell me where he is.
Bill: Stop facing that thing towards me!
Jackson: WINONA! WINONA! WINONA!
Winona: Oh dear God!
Jackson: (Whispering) Just play along for me. (Aloud) Here’s my beautiful date! My loving, wonderful date! (Winona growls)
Winona: Jackson, GET YOUR GOD DAMN HANDS OFF OF ME! I am not your girlfriend and I am not your date. Now why don’t you do us all a favor and get the hell out of here! I DON’T LIKE YOU! (Jackson gasps and silence around)
Jackson: (Silently) You’ll be sorry! (Winona gasps and Jackson runs out)
Wallace: Are you alright Winnie? (He embraces her)
Winona: Y-Yeah, I’ll be fine. I’m so sorry I acted so harshly towards him. That’s no way for me to react.
Daisy: No, you did the right thing! Finally, you show some actual backbone, I am impressed! That kid was such a creep anyways.
Winona: Yeah, but I can’t help but feel…
Lanette: Don’t Winnie! He needed to hear the truth.
Wallace: Come on, let’s not have him ruin the happiest night of our life. (He kisses Winona)
Winona: Oh Wallace. (Outside the dance)
Jackson: (Panting) I'll make her pay. How dare she reject me like that and in front of everybody! She'll pay for this!
