Tertius: June 20, 2007: Pereginator
peregrinator, peregrinatoris
Definition: Traveler (usually abroad)
Sentence: Erim pereginator cras in Williamsburg.
I shall be a traveler tomorrow in Williamsburg.
And now another, cooler sentence which uses cooler grammar:
Peregrinatores e Troia ad Italiam venit ut novam Teucriam* conderent et Graecos fugerent.
Travelers came from Troy to Italy so that they might found a new Troy and escape from the Greeks.
Derives from: peregrinor, peregrinari, peregrinatus sum (to be abroad, travel, to be a stranger). This is probably from per- (through) + egredior (to go out), though I am just guessing....
* this word (Teucria) is found in the first 2 columns of the vocab that you need to learn for AP Latin
*Bold and underline = macron
