Centesimus Undevicesimus: December 21, 2008: Autumo
autumo, autumare, autumavi, autumatus
Definition: to say, affirm; to name, call
Sententia: Cras in octavo classo Thomatis Jeffersonis poteritis videre visum "Salsa Res Accidit in Via ad Forum," visum quem autumo esse hilarem et non illepidum.
Tomorrow in 8th period of TJ [A and B blocks] you will be able to see the movie "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," a movie which I affirm to be funny and not uncharming.
Sorry if you don't go to TJ, but since the movie has not been advertised much, if at all, I wanted to make sure that people knew about it. The word "autumo," though relatively rare, occurs in Catullus 44. It is also rather timely, for the word "autumo" looks kind of like "autumn," which just ended today (though the actual meanings are totally different).
