About this website
Salvete, omnes! I'm Christina, a freshman at Yale University, and I am a linguaphile. In order to soothe my addiction to words, I write up a Latin word each week during the school year--a weekly Latin word of the day, if you will--and a word a day during the summer. I hope that these Latina Verba Diei (LVD, for short) will expand the vocabularies of the people accessing the LVD (and mine as well!), featuring some words commonly found in AP Vergil. But the words are not all useful--some are just cool words which I have come across, which may or may not have been used often. And with each word comes a sentence using it, which hopefully will help you to remember the words better, and any etymological notes I can come across. Finally, I will try to have some contests every now and then, whenever I think up a good topic, with results posted on the contests page. So, enjoy! (Fruimini!)
I must also give credit to the aid I have gotten, for I wouldn't be able to do this word a day without help, and I must cite my sources properly!
