Sententia: Magna Britannia quondam Americam coloniam tenuit, sed hac die coloni declaraverunt se imperio regis in Adfirmatione Libertatis vacare.
Great Britain formerly held America as a colony, but on this day the colonists declared that they were free from the empire of the king in the Declaration of Independence.
Since Perseus is not working today, I cannot tell you exactly where this word is found, but I certainly have seen it in the Aeneid.
