Septimus: June 25, 2007: For
for, fari, fatus sum
Definition: to speak, utter, say, talk
Sentence: Oraculum Delphorum fatum fatum est: necesse est Herculi aliquo quem rex eum facere vult perfungi.
The oracle of Delphi spoke the prophesy: Hercules must complete anything which the king wants him to do.
Derivation: This is not so much a derivation as an observation. "fatum" or fate/prophesy seems similar to "fatum", the PPP of for. "Having spoken" is similar in meaning to a "prophesy," because a prophesy is something that the oracles have spoken.
