Raised and educated in a tradition of art and fabrication (the son of Moritz Kundig FAIA of Spokane), Tom Kundig (BAED magna cum laude 1977, MArch 1981 University of Washington; owner and designer, Olson Kundig, Seattle) has created designs that successfully combine art, craft, and the human experience of space.  With Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen since 1986, he has brought inspiration and breadth to the firm's notable design ethic, effectively presented in the publication Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen, Architecture, Art, and Craft, as well as numerous regional and national publications.  In 2004, his projects The Brain and Chicken Point Cabin received two of 16 AIA national Honors Award for Architecture given that year
The Architectural League of New York's Emerging Voices program named Tom among "eight talents with something to say."  He lectures and participates in design studios and juries around the US and the globe, most recently in Japan.

His elevation to the AIA College of Fellows in 2004 recognized the significance to the advancement of the profession of his contributions in design.  Ed Weinstein FAIA sponsored the nomination.
