Evan Cruthers FAIA

Born in Victoria, Canada, Evan Cruthers FAIA (1941-2009) graduated from Idaho University School of Architecture in 1964. He moved to Honolulu in 1970, initially working for NBBJ on the City and County Municipal Building. He joined Media Five Architectural firm in 1972 and became the firm's President/CEO, participating in numerous award-winning projects in Hawaii and abroad.

Evan served as AIA Honolulu Chapter President in 1987 (his wife Shirley Cruthers served as Executive Director of AIA Honolulu during the 1990s) and later as AIA Northwest & Pacific Region Director served on the AIA national Board 1991-93. Following 2000 retirement, Evan and Shirley relocated to Port Angeles.
