For William McLeod "Bill" Gaylord (BArch RISD 1977), community engagement offers a wellspring of civic vitality and professional effectiveness, expressed through his tireless leadership in nonprofit organizations that champion the value of art, architecture, and principled urbanism in public life.
Bill worked with Bumgardner Architects in Seattle before serving on the founding team of GGLO (originally Gaylord Grainger Libby O'Brien--Smith) in Seattle. He shaped the firm's positive culture, promoting civic engagement through community-focused design and community partnership -- setting a national standard for advocacy and outreach.
His BONFIRE Gallery in Seattle's International District has showcased culturally significant work.
