Love's Old Sweet Song (1884) was written by James Lynam Molloy, a composer from Ireland who lived from 1837 - 1909.  Molloy was good friends with author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and many think his Sherlock Holmes book The Hounds of Baskerville was named after Molloy's wife, Florence Baskerville.
