Norman Rockwell (1894 - 1978)

Born Norman Percevel Rockwell on February 3, 1894, in New York City

Created more than 4,000 works of art including paintings, prints, drawings, and magazine covers

Rockwell painted presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon

He died on November 8, 1978, at the age of 84, in Stockbridge, MA – home to his museum

Norman Rockwell. In 2010, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg displayed their collection of Rockwell prints at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, in an exhibit called Telling Stories. You can visit the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA, to see Freedom from Want, the entire Four Freedoms series, and many of his other masterpieces.
