Born Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci on April 14 or 15, 1452, in Vinci, Italy.
Known as a Renaissance Man, he was an artist, architect, scientist, musician, mathematician, engineer, writer, astronomer, botanist, anatomist, paleontologist, cartographer, and inventor.
Da Vinci was known for painting the Mona Lisa, his invention journals, and mirror image hand writing.
He died on May 2, 1519 in Amboise, France, at the age of 67.
