He died on November 24, 1957, at the age of 70, in Mexico City, Mexico

Diego Rivera believed in painting everyday working people, first in his native Mexico, and then in the United States. Many of his works of art are large-scale murals like the Detroit Industry Murals (1932), painted over four walls at the Detroit Institute of Art. He was married to Frida Kahlo, and when they were alive, he was the more popular artist. Over time, Kahlo became the more famous artist of the two. You can visit their home in Mexico City, Mexico, that is now a museum. Fun fact about The Flower Vendor (1941): It was given to the Norton Simon Museum by actor Cary Grant.
